LET YOUR CHILD TEACH YOU

"Tell me and I will forget
Show me and I may remember
Involve me and I learn."
Benjamin Franklin.
My encounter with this quote caused a mindset boost for me. It led to the beginning of a parenting journey that is inclusive, child-led, information-based and devoid of fear.
It made me realize that I was more of a student than a teacher on this journey.
The common sense that followed made me pay attention to each of our children for clues of;
❤ who they are.
❤ what they enjoy doing.
❤ how to speak to them.
❤ what discipline strategy invokes the most effective outcomes.
❤ how they each learn
❤what they love and how they want to be loved.
This way, when we assume the role of teachers as parents we can teach for depth and not for breath.
We can align with their specific needs and interests in-depth and not overload them with the breadth of things they don't need, just because that is what is expected by whoever.
Knowing this has brough us to a place where every effort, endeavour, assessment and challenge is done by faith and knowledge, not in fear.
There is so much that you can learn from your child...
If only you would let them teach you.

Update: Have a beautiful Valentine. Let the children feel an extra dose of love too. ❤
