I was in shock as I stood there watching my 3-year-old angry and lashing out at the young lady who worked with us at the time- let's call her Maggi. All Maggi did was mistakenly scratching her while trying to give her a bath or something.

She yelled at her, gesticulated in a complete meltdown, and refused to be consoled (even me I come tire). I had never seen her treat anyone like that before .

Then it hit me one day after I had gone off on Maggi as well- my daughter was being me...she was replicating how I go off on Maggi when she makes mistakes or doesn't follow my instructions like most domestic helps do.

That was when I started looking for help on this Emotional control /regulation matter o...

Thank God I found help for me at TIP, and then I started the journey of helping each of us build skills in this area. We have set parenting goals in this area since then ( for 5 years).

Today, she's nothing like she was, but is still a work in progress. The good news is that she has gradually moved from being motivated by me in this area to being self-motivated, thanks to the Mastermind Circle.

As a partner, she now sets her own goals and is guided to create plans, supported by the team and motivated by her peers to achieve them.

I'm excited as the Mastermind Circle Partners (6-14 year-olds) ,in our peer mentorship and accountability program begin to share their plans and vision in the tribe.
