Contrary to the erroneous beliefs by many people of African descent, appearing tough and unapproachable is not how to make children, especially men strong adults.

On the contrary , the strongest, most reasonable, stable , confident , assertive and effective leaders are people raised in intentionally loving, peaceful and stable homes.

We need to stop raising people who are driven by extreme emotions - 'too hard' from tough parenting, or super 'pleasers' from over parenting.

A child who is loved within boundaries and structures and shown compassion grows into a confident, principled and self assured. They don't live to please people and do not need to appear tough to prove a point. They turn out to be true leaders.
