Dear Parents if Only We Can Drop The Judgement Lenses

Jun 13, 2023 10:53 am

I woke up this morning feeling blessed, pumped, and ready to take on the world.

Funny how I was far from here just a few days ago, how it's easy to have a total emotional roller coaster in 3days is a wonder. Omo who no fear God should just gettat!🤣

Today I look at the lessons of the last three days and it affirms to me once again that we are truly made of our thoughts, our support systems, the life we've touched, and what we have invested in the people we love. That is a story for another day though.

I watched my 13 and 7 year-olds run the show in our home for 3days and I realize again how our expectations can easily make a mess of our children if we don't have the wisdom to stop and see the efforts that they make.

Our 13-year-old son walked into my room yesterday with a tray of the most delicious pasta and shredded chicken and a "Get-well" note from him and his sister and my heart melted.

At this point, I was trying to count how many times my daughter had popped in to check on me and the number of hugs, massages, " do you want anything" and kisses that followed. At some point it was a full hand laying prayer session.

To think that I scold them when they are in the kitchen with me and I admonish them when by my standard I don't see them empathize with each other or do things properly.

Yet, here I was without my judgment lens because I was too tired to even look, and they were the most caring, loving, supportive, empathetic, thoughtful, and responsible duo.

How we can be blinded by the very lens that is meant to help us see clearly.

This is me being grateful for the small things, the blessing of children and asking once more for the grace and sense to parent with the right tools and strategies.

This is me committing ( not easy o...) to dump my judgment lenses forever and to love unconditionally even when they make mistakes.

If this is your prayer too, then say Amin Jesu (Amen)

I hope you connect with our product and services today ,so we can walk the journey of knowing and supporting our children together.

Cheers to an Amazing Day
