"Mummy, I'm going to fry eggs, would you like some? " My six-year-old daughter asked as she walked into my room.
Me: Oh sure (silently counting the number of eggs that have gone into this. Chai the same eggs that costs an arm and a leg these days )
A little background.
Every holiday we have the kids learn one or two new skills of their choice from a list of skills that we have in our plan.
So our 6year old chose to go with learning to make omelettes and sweep the floor with a broom. And since repetition and practice are strategies for us, we encourage them to keep practising.

Crayfish!
Me: Mami...! Crayfish in eggs ?...🤣🤣🤣
Her: What! it's very nice!!! Just try it first and see.
Chai, that is how I ate crayfish omelette made by my daughter, supervised by her big brother...

No-s
It's not done that way...
You can't do that...
Leave that place...
You are so careless...
You are so lazy...
You don't know how to do any...
'Dem' too many, abeg help me add to the list ejo, I'm 'tayad'
These are all blocks that will keep our children from trying new things, finding problems and creating solutions.
Who knows what other versions of omelettes I'll be having before the holiday end ( perhaps one with dadawa🤪) But las las ...we are here with our fork and knife.
We are here for the process and the journey.
