" Let Children Be Children"

The thought that your preteen is too young to push themselves is erroneous. Hence, let the ability to take initiative , create solutions and offer value by solving problems NEVER come to mind when you use the phrase , " Let children be children" to connote pushing them too hard.

Let me offer a little insight here ;

Parenting is first about you dear parents, as emotional as it can be, emotions do not deliver on this journey . What delivers are knowledge , structures and the system that you put in place.

👉Knowledge; Who are you raising, and what do you know about that child ( I can write a whole book on this)

👉 Structure ; What plans , strategies, resources , tools and processes have you put in place for each step of the journey ,from infancy to young adult phase?

👉 Systems; What routines , skills , support system (partnerships and collaborations) have you put in place to ensure that your child's potential is maximized for every phrase .

Sensible , resilient , resourceful and self suffient people don't emerge at age 18 or 21, they become gradually by going through a process from infancy .

So, yes , your preteen is on a journey and at 10 or 12 , they should be RESOURCEFUL and have GRIT.

📌 Let them cook ( whether boy or girl)

📌Let them do chores

📌Let them serve others

📌Let them start honing skills

📌Let them earn money by offering value for it.

📌Let them create things from scratch .

📌Let them WORK .

The hand is the instrument of the brain and children are doing the work of self construction when they work, so let your child WORK.

💥 Set goals together.

💥Be fair with your expectations, don't be over ambitious.

💥Praise their efforts.

💥Give room for failures and learning from them.

💥Give moderate tasks with no pressure .

However, let no one blackmail you with the phrase " Let children be children when it comes to empowering , equipping and instill discipline ( which by the way is teaching) in your child .

🟥Let children be children by allowing them dress like children, dance like children, watch age appropriate shows , stay off phones and excessive screen time.🟥

Dear parent , let them be off media and fashion over sensitivity, move your focus from their looks and entertainment to their value and impact.

Cheers to building a solid foundation for your child's future.
