Intentional Parents Birth Intentional Children

We stopped having a stay-in "help" when our son turned 10. The first reason was that we wanted our children to learn to build skills and practice them consistently to internalize them so they can be less dependent as children and navigate life as adults.
The other reason was that we didn't have a staff quarter and I was tired of having strangers in my face.
Omo the decision came with a lot of stress, but it was a cross I had to bear, and luckily my niece had come in to seek admission into the university,, so her help came in handy in that period when our son was adjusting to looking after himself 100%.
Today I have a fully domesticated 13-year-old. I watched him make two ( semo) the other day and I smiled. Watching him organize his laundry since the washing packed up, is a good thing to see.
However, you see those sumptuous meals he makes after school or the laundry and ironing he does at the weekend, these aren't the real deal or what this post is about. The real deal is in the EXECUTIVE FUNCTION SKILLS he's developing as he builds the muscles to achieve these tasks;
✅Planning and execution
✅ Ability to start and finish
✅The independence
✅ Self-direction
✅Organization skills
✅Problem solving
✅ Self-sufficiency
✅Empathy
✅Honour for us as a skill
✅ Decision
✅ Service to others
So, the next time anyone asks you why your 3-year-old has a chore, tell them they are building the muscles and consistency.
This is why our biggest strategy at the Mastermind Circle (MMC) is getting the partners to practice consistency.
Registration for the 2024 cohort end on the 10th of December, we won't be enrolling anymore after this. Hurry up and enrol your child for this transformation journey.
