On this Giving Tuesday, the American Sephardi Federation asks you to take a stand for Jewish Unity with our #AllJewsTogether campaign.
The Jewish world faces serious challenges: Antisemitism from without; alienation, divisiveness, and extremism from within. Infighting is making us vulnerable to intellectual and physical attacks.
The American Sephardi Federation is the Sephardic Voice on campus, in the Jewish community, and in countries around the world. Guided by classic Sephardic teachings that have been a source of strength, resilience, and unity throughout the ages, the American Sephardi Federation unapologetically stands for bringing āAll Jews, togetherā¦If we are united, all Sephardim and also Ashkenazim, together...we will see the light!,ā in the words of ASF Pomegranate Awardee Enrico Macias.
How does the American Sephardi Federation fight the antisemitism (the false narratives, distortions, threats, & attacks) that Jewish college students are facing? Enter Sephardi House's visionary founder Joshua Benaim, who is enlightening and empowering Jewish students on campuses coast-to-coast, from Yale to Stanford. Since 2020, Sephardi House, the only national fellowship program of its kind, has brought together 58 fellows and engaged hundreds of others. We also support emerging Sephardic scholars and future pillars of the community through the Broome and Allen Endowment and ASF Young Leaders, the young professionals arm of ASF.
How does the American Sephardi Federation change the conversation within the Jewish community to ensure that today's Jews know our history; appreciate the beauty, depth, diversity, and vitality of the Jewish experience; and have a sense of pride in our contributions to civilization? The ASF Institute of Jewish Experience leverages digital platforms to take the ASF's traditional strength in creating scholarly and cultural programs to a growing, global audience of over 100,000, while also hosting international conferences that celebrate the breadth and depth of the Greater Sephardi world. Among other high profile events is our celebrated annual New York Sephardic Jewish Film Festival.
How does the American Sephardi Federation serve our constituents in communal & diplomatic affairs? By building cross-cultural partnerships and initiatives that champion the Sephardic legacy, as well as advocating for Jewish concerns in the US and on the world stage. We are the only Sephardic organization in the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations and the World Jewish Congress, as well as a founding partner of the Combat Antisemitism Movement. Recently, the ASF, our partner Mimouna Association, and the Jewish communities of Marrakech and Fez inaugurated the 1st synagogue at a Muslim university in the world.
American Sephardi leadership is vital to the Jewish future. Join the ASF now to make the most of this moment!
