Enjoy Christmas Without Stressing About Calories

Dec 23, 2024 10:38 pm

It’s Monday, and Christmas is just around the corner! 🎄 As we head into the holidays, I want to remind you that it’s okay to allow for some flexibility in your routine. This season is about joy, family, and making memories—not stressing over every calorie.

Here are a few tips to help you enjoy Christmas while still staying mindful of your goals:

1. Use Fasting to Your Advantage

Consider having a smaller meal or skipping breakfast on Christmas morning. This allows you to "save" some calories for the big holiday meal without feeling restricted.

2. Be Mindful, Not Perfect

You don’t need to track every bite, but stay aware of portion sizes and how you’re feeling. Focus on enjoying your favorite holiday foods without overindulging.

3. Don’t Sweat a Few Extra Pounds

If the scale jumps up the next day, don’t panic! Most of it will likely be water weight due to higher sodium intake from rich holiday foods. Extra sodium can make your body hold onto water temporarily—it’s not fat gain.

4. Stay Active

Even a short walk or quick workout can help keep you feeling energized and balanced amidst the festivities.

Remember, the holidays are just a small blip in the grand scheme of your fitness journey. Enjoy the time with your loved ones, savor your favorite foods, and know that you can get right back to your routine afterward.

If you have any questions or need extra tips, I’m here to help. Wishing you a joyful, stress-free Christmas!

Peace and Progress,

Coach Monty
