Presenting to Senior Executives 4

Dear ,
Today is day 4 of my series on: How to Prepare for Presenting to Senior Executives
Let's start with something you may already know: Executives Are a Nerve-Wracking Audience
It’s natural to feel intimidated by executives. They have more experience, authority, and influence.
But remember: you were invited to present for a reason.
So this is how you should handle this challenge:
- Own Your Expertise – You were chosen to speak because you have valuable insights. Believe in your ability to contribute and don’t overthink your audience's expectations.
- Practice Relentlessly – Rehearse your presentation multiple times, ideally in front of your coach or colleagues who can provide feedback. Practice helps us to see where we are at, what we can do, and where we need improvement.
- Anticipate Tough Questions – Executives will likely challenge your ideas. Prepare answers to potential objections in advance. Write out all the possible tough questions they might ask, and think about the answers.
- Use Confident Body Language – Stand tall, make eye contact, and project your voice clearly.
- Control Your Nerves – Breathe deeply before you start. If you tend to get nervous, practice techniques like visualization or meditation before the meeting.
