How to Prepare for Presenting to Senior Executives

Feb 04, 2025 8:53 am

Hi

Ahmed is like many of us.

He had been waiting for this moment for years. After months of hard work, he was finally given the chance to present his project to the senior executives of the company where he works. He spent countless hours preparing slides, rehearsing his speech, and fine-tuning his arguments.

But as soon as he walked into the boardroom, he felt the weight of their gazes. The CEO checked his watch. The CFO glanced at his phone. Within minutes, Ahmed could tell he was losing their attention. His slides were too detailed, his explanations too long, and his key points buried in unnecessary information. The moment he had been waiting for turned into a disaster.

After the presentation, Ahmed’s manager gave him valuable feedback. "You had great insights, but you lost them at the start. Next time, be clear, direct, and impactful. Executives don’t have time for fluff."

Determined to improve, Ahmed sought training on executive communication from the Fordax Public Speaking School and transformed his approach with just 4 weeks of coaching.

The next time he presented, he was confident, concise, and compelling. His ideas were met with enthusiasm, and he secured the funding he needed for his project.

So, how can you avoid Ahmed’s initial mistakes and ensure a successful presentation to senior executives?

In my next email, I will share some practical and actional insights to help you prepare and present well in front of senior executives or any other “big audience”.
