At Small Furry Games, we aim to create to fun, intergenerational games in small boxes that are convenient for travel, and easy on the environment. With this, our first manufactured game, we are striving for high levels of sustainability. We can make a big impact by reducing our box size, and by using recycled and FSC-sourced materials and minimal plastic. Board games don't last forever, so we want to produce a game that can age gracefully and ultimately be recycled when its life is over.
This approach sometimes means our games cost a bit more, but we think it's worth it. For instance, about 5 cents per game can ensure that the wood and paper we use is sustainably sourced and certified. For about 35 cents per game, we can wrap them up in brown paper instead of plastic wrap. We hope that our followers and fans will celebrate these higher standards of sustainability, and maybe even help us shift the industry standards.
There are plenty more games coming, beyond the 12 included in the box. We hope to release additional downloadable game rules and fun activities each year, so friends and family can rediscover the Bah! Humbug! collection every Christmas season.
