Kedu, ?
How do you feel when someone celebrates you?
Does it make you feel appreciated? Loved? Accepted? Acknowledged? Seen as an important person?
Well, for me, that's how being celebarted makes me feel, I am very sure that's how you feel too, *smiles*
On Wednesday 27th September, my company celebrated the Top 100 Tourism Personalities in Nigeria to commemorate World Tourism Day 2023.
The Nene-Uwa 100 Tourism Power List aims to recognize and celebrate prominent Tourism professionals in Nigeria 🇳🇬
The list was launched on our digital platforms - check Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn with the hashtag - #NeneUwa100TourismList2023
You can also find the complete list on our website - https://nene-uwa.com/wtd-2023-celebrating-the-100-personalities-who-made-the-nene-uwa-tourism-power-list/
What was the result? You may ask...
The positive way it made some of the recipients feel was a satisfying victory for me *satisfied smile*
Because it was HARD work collating the list, o! *wipes sweat from eyebrow*
From searching for the qualified personalities...to compling the 100 list...to sourcing for their finest photos and bios online...
To designing their fliers...to fine-tuning their bios...to ensuring the list was broadcasted on the right channels...
It was plenty work! But it was sooooo worth it *doing a victory dance*
Celebrating others who are doing great works is a satisfying venture and I am glad my company created that visibility for these 100 exceptional Nigerian Tourism personalities *claps hands*
Special shout out goes to the following people for assisting me with this venture...
Thank you to Faith Oguntayo, Praise Amutadi and Blessing Okoro for working on the bios.
I appreciate Kunat Tychicus amazing work designing all the fliers. I am sure you agree the fliers are beautiful *love strucks*
Thank you to the following media platforms for sharing the list's press release on their platforms- Travelscope Magazine, Inside Watch Africa, Africa Travel Times, and Kalo Africa Media.
Lastly, I want to specially thank Mr. Esene for sharing this celebratory list idea with me. I am glad I ran with the vision *smiles*
If there is one major lesson you should take away from today's email, it is this...
Do NOT do life alone. Collaborate. Partner. Brainstorm. Ask for help.
We are created to connect and not to walk/work alone. I come in peace. #Selah
Have you ever been celebrated before, ?
If you can't recall, then let me help you trace back to when you were a child...
When your parents or teachers or friends celebarted you for doing something laudable, in their opinion, how did they make you feel? Great abi?
As an adult, when your colleagues or boss or clients acknowledge you for the awesome work you have done, how do you feel? Good right?
Over the years, I have learned the act of giving genuine compliments to people around me.
In fact you need to read this classic book by Dale Carnegie, "How To Win Friends And Influence People".
Some of the best lessons from the book are how to "Be generous with praises" and "Make people feel important".

Celebrate people. While at it, also...
Celebrate YOURSELF,
Reflect and trace back to your past achievements that helped you get to where you are today.
Celebrate your past. Celebrate your present. Celebrate your future. Take your flowers, *hands you a bouquet*
To wrap this up...
We also hosted the Tourism Virtual Summit 2023 to celebrate the WTD 2023 theme, "Tourism and Green Investments" 🌱
Our summit speakers discussed the topic "Investing in Nigeria's Green Space" where they shared insights on the benefits of sustainable tourism and ecotourism development in Nigeria.
You can catch the replay of the session to learn more about how we can invest in Nigeria's green spaces and create a more sustainable future for tourism in our nation and Africa at large. Watch here - https://bit.ly/tourismvirtualsummit2023
