Ya ya dai, ?

During my university association's inauguration, we stayed at former President Olusegun Obasanjo's hotel, Green Legacy Hotel loacted at Abeokuta, Ogun State.

We also had the opportunity to tour to his famous Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) which is situated in the same place as the hotel.

OOPL serves as an inspiration to visitors on the importance, values and rewards of leadership through servitude, embodied by Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.

Here are five (5) powerful lessons I learned from Chief Obasanjo while exploring OOPL

Inside the front area of OOPL

1. Keep Records: This one blew my mind away! *booom* OBJ, as he is fondly called, knows how to keep records mehn. From his primary and secondary school certificates, to his army training documents, to the materials he used while in prison, to his personal letters from his family and friends, to pictures from way back...everything is intact.

Lesson: Start keeping and gathering records about every little and big details about your life. You never know, you might become a prominent person one day. And your chronicle can inspire someone, just like OBJ's library inspired me

Spoilers Alert: Get ready to see some classic cars and even a classic flying machine at the museum *wink*

2. Build relationships: Sigh. This one made me smile. OBJ has taken photos with a lot of prominent men and women, with whom he has built relationships with over the years. I was just in awe while going through the museum's photo gallery. I also learned that he has a good relationship with all his children, family and friends.

Lesson: Never underestimate the power of building and keeping quality relationships.

Fun fact: His library was built from donations given by friends, leaders and organisations he has invested significantly into.

3. Find your niche: As a boy, it is said that OBJ spent most of his time doing two things: farming and reading. Now not only does he own a farm but he also authored a significant among of books and runs his own schools, Bells Secondary School and Bells University.

Lesson: Find what brings you joy and build a sustainable business around it.

Fun fact: Obasanjo's Farm has been feeding Nigeria since 1979.

4. Invest in quality: Hmmm...OOPL was build with quality in mind. From the entrance to the museum chambers, everything screamed quality. We were told that the architect who designed the Presidential Library blueprint for one of the United States' Head of State's was hired by OBJ to design his.

Lesson: Quality is very important when building a brand that will stand the test of time. Invest in it and you are sure to reap quality results.

Fun fact: The museum has a copy of the blueprint design of that US President's library. It was given to OBJ as a gift.

5. Leave a legacy: While at Green Legacy Hotel, OBJ held a conference to discuss matters that pertain to building the Nigerian economy. I was quite impressed when I saw the canibal of invitees...from the youngsters to the veterans. OBJ has managed to build a leagcy when it comes to Agriculture, Education and Politics. And for that, I dove my hat for him.

Lesson: , do something important with your life. Invest in yourself. Leave a leagacy that cannot be erased.

Fun fact: Ensure you take professional photos at the make-believe Aso Rock Presidential Seat. You never know if that's a glimpse of the legacy you will be leaving *wink*

On that note, meet your Vice President in da making at the Aso-Rock seat *two hands in da air*
