I am currently writing a romance novel and I am looking for people who might like to help me on the road to production. I am looking for critics who love to read and who are happy to give honest feedback on my latest work-in-progress.

How it works

I will send out my book to interested readers when it is finished, this can be a MOBI or PDF depending on reader. I will also send a list of easy questions to find out what you think of the book. All comments will be taken on board and hopefully can be used to help me create a truly great read.

My next book is called Hope in Liverpool.

The place is Liverpool UK, the year 1958. Hope is from the bombed slums of Dingle. With a mum who is both a drinker and a gambler her upbringing has been tough. She is yearning for security when she meets John - a much older widow. This is a 'real' look at life in Liverpool. It is a mix of sad and moving, and laugh out loud funny, but mostly it is a sweet, endearing love story.

My latest book review

In my quest to continually better my writing skills, I devour books. Picking up bestsellers I’m searching for their magical ingredients – what makes this book a Wall Street Journal & Amason worldwide bestseller? Is it the characters, plot or writing style?

A simply brilliant adaptation (modernization) of Peter Pan, 5 stars from me.

Did you ever wonder what happened to Wendy, Peter, Tinkerbell and the Lost Boys and how they might fit in today’s world?

This is a thoroughly modern extension to the beloved story of Peter Pan. I often think ‘I wish authors would leave the classics alone’ they are perfect – and classic – for a reason. Still, I was drawn to this book by the brill book cover created by Steve Hahn. Despite my reservations about re-writes I couldn’t help myself (mainly because it was free) and dived in to see what the author had come up with. Boy am I glad I took the plunge! This isn’t a re-write, in fact in it amazingly unique, clever and absolutely up-to-date for modern YA fantasy. Having left my teenage years behind a very long time ago, I can say with confidence that this book is also for adults who like me love a good fantasy.

The book starts with children being experimented on is a prison-like facility, being kept under guard by the dreaded Red Skulls. When two of the top scientist realize their employers want to terminate the children, they do all they can to save them.

The bulk of the story then continues seven years later, when Wendy has no memory of who she is or where she came from. She is plagued by dark shadows that fill her with fear.

Chanda Hahn has done a fabulous job with this story. Wendy and Peter are now seventeen years old and a very sweet and tender romance blossoms between them. Tink is a bad-ass inventor, and all the lost boys have powers of some sort. I really don’t want to give anymore of the story away, so I’ll stop there.

Hiding from the Red Skulls, chasing shadows and fighting monsters the band of young adults race through the book from one adventure to the next. It is excellently written, gripping, clever and ever so slightly magical.

I just want to mention that the blurb mentions Tink has a foul-mouth, but there are no swear words in the book, just a few !@k! type things.
