TEENS! UNDERSTANDING TEENAGERS AND HOW TO SUPPORT THEM THROUGH ADOLESCENCE

- The aim of this workshop is to understand how today’s teenagers experience their world, how to talk to them in a way that allows them to open up, and how to give them the tools they need to safely cross the bridge from childhood to adulthood. The topics we will cover include:The changes that occur during adolescence
- Handling emotions – yours and theirs
- How to encourage responsible independence
- Communicating without conflict
- Dealing with the big issues – sex, drugs and alcohol
- For therapists counsellors and anyone who wants to understand teens better.
- For adults working with boys and girls from puberty to 17

SHOULD I ATTEND THE TEENS! AND THE BOYS! COURSE?
Lucinda is running two courses – Teens! and Boys! The courses are complementary but independent. Although the core principles are the same, each course focuses on different areas, so anyone coming on both courses should feel they are broadening their understanding rather than covering the same ideas.

An online workshop -1 day - for youth workers, therapists or anyone who wants to understand boys better
This workshop explores the characteristics of boys, their particular needs and challenges, and what adults can do (and not do) to enable them to flourish.
- We will cover:What makes boys tick?
- Working with boys’ energy
- Boundaries and cooperation
- Expressing emotions
- Understanding male pride
- Laying foundations for manhood

LUCINDA NEALL has been training and coaching people in communication and motivation for over 30 years, and has worked in a voluntary capacity with teenagers since she was one herself! She ran a youth club for many years and is a watchleader for Ocean Youth Trust South. She is the author of 4 books.
EQUIPMENT YOU WILL NEED: We will use Zoom, so you would need a computer that has good enough internet access to be able to be online, and in a quiet spot where you won’t be disturbed.
