Content of the course:
By the end of the workshop you will have:
- Watched and analysed a video of a couple using decentring and communication skills
- Practiced listening for values, and helping a couple to discover shared values
- Learnt about 5 different thinking styles (meta-programmes) that people use
- Understood how meta-programme differences are a significant source of conflict
- Learn what your personal meta-programme preferences are
- Learn about language patterns that make communication easier
- Practiced working with these issues in a role play situation
The content for this workshop is based on the de-centring model of Dr Michael Crowe and Jane Ridley; and on meta-programmes from Neuro-Linguistic Programming
ABOUT THE TRAINER :
Nicola Jones is an experienced relationship therapist and an accomplished trainer and facilitator. She trained with and worked for Relate, trained with The Bowlby Centre for 2 years and is accredited by the National Counselling Society.
She has an MA in Gender Studies, SOAS, University of London (2008). Nicola has supervision with those who worked with or were supervised by John Bowlby.
She is Vice Chair of the International Attachment Network and works privately in Bristol with individuals, couples and families.
Her first career was as a lawyer and family business adviser. Nicola has presented internationally on a range of matters related to social justice.
