The joys of using Amazon

Good afternoon lovely reader,
It's a beautiful, rainy day here in Virginia. I woke up at 5:45 to hike through this area, breaking my boots in more and keeping my legs ready to hike Mt Everest!
I also woke up to an email from Amazon. A notoriously difficult company to get a hold of, which I tried to do yesterday. But my email did not make it to the person it needed to (Whoever that is, because all one can do is fill in a form over there) or perhaps it's still in the slush pile and will be looked at on Monday. At any rate it's too late.
They cancelled the pre-order of Coffee Stains.
t done. (Lesson for me to ask for help earlier!) There was a bully terrorizing her five year old grandson at school, which clearly needs full attention. A five year old is WAY more important than my book coming out tomorrow or Tuesday or Thursday or next year.
Family comes first. Period.
And I should have asked for help earlier. My fault.
But either Amazon didn't get my email or didn't care or who knows. It's Amazon. The giant can do as it pleases.
I'm annoyed for you, though, if you pre-ordered because I can't upload it now. And they won't answer me on when I will or if I will be able to. To be fair, I'm sure I'll be let out of jail ...eventually. Once the date is past.
They like to punish people for not following the RULES. But hey, they have rules for a reason. Big company and all that.
At any rate, the book is coming out, regardless of Amazon. Barnes and Noble didn't even need contacting. I just changed the date, no problem. Kobo was the same. So the book will be in those stores ASAP.
As far as Kindle users go, I'll have it up through PayHip at the same time as Barnes and Noble and Kobo. It takes two more clicks than buying from Amazon, but otherwise it's easy. And (honestly) I make a few more cents from the sale.
If you prefer to buy it once it's on Amazon, I'll be letting you know of that date.
If this annoys you too much to not want to buy it, I'm sincerely sorry for the annoyance.
We always learn more from our mistakes, don't we? And I have a lot to learn from this one.
I hope you're having a fabulous Saturday!
~Kat
P.S. If you need something to read ASAP you can pick up my FREE novella, Aurora's Dilemma! Thanks to Elaine Kane for the title!
