books set internationally

Dear ,
OMG. I'm almost done with Outside the Ring (still debating that title...). I'm so close I can taste it. I had to spend an entire day rethinking the ending, but I have it now and it's good. I just need to get into all woven into actual paragraphs.
A few family things have prevented that happening as quickly as I would like, but it'll get done. In the in-between time, I've been making notes and putting mini scenes into Daucer (whatever that title will be.... who knows?) just so I don't forget them.
I'm so excited for 2023! Because, you guessed it, I'll be holding on to all of these until the new year and have no plans to publish until around March. Why, you ask?
Time. Resources. Stress. Life.
It's pretty crazy how much time it takes to get a manuscript edited, then fixed, then proofed, then formatted, then ready to go out. That process involves other humans in which life sometimes gets into their way as well. I've learned the hard way (cancelled presale, anyone?) that my plans aren't always going to happen. Since OTR is a duology, I want the launches to be less than a year apart. I'm also hopping to get Daucer's story out. Simply put, I can't do it all at the same time and I'm not willing to wait to write Daucer's story any longer.
That being said, we're getting closer to beta reader time for OTR. Keep your eyes out for that email if you're interested.
In the meantime, I also want to get a few short stories sent out. Another short story is being published in October and I will send that out to you when it happened to pop the champagne together! Pencils&Lipstick podcast will continue, I'll be a speaker at Daniel David Wallace's Plot Forest Summit in October, I'm finishing up my fiction book coaching certificate and I'm still the taxi driver for three beautiful, bossy girls.
Ha!
Speaking of the podcast, don't forget to check out the episode with author Madeleine Mozley on Pencils&Lipstick here.

On to books.....
Some of my favorite books are set in countries other than the US. Trinity is set in Ireland. The Poisonwood Bible is set in Africa. The Henna Artist is set in India.
The Nightingale is set in France.
You get the idea.
If you love books set in other countries, I have a promotion for you! Check out these international books here.

Do you like reviewing books? This promotion is still running, but it ends soon! There are so many books to choose from and they're all free. All we ask is that you review them when you're finished.
Of course, with your honest review!
Until next time!
Kat
