it's cold! Snuggle up with a book to read
Oct 13, 2022 3:06 pm
Dear ,
Hope you are well!
This past weekend I participated in The Write Women's Book Fest over in Glen Dale, Maryland. It was so much fun to meet other authors, share about my podcast, sell my book to readers and enjoy the fall air. (okay, it was a wee bit chilly since I didn't bring my coat. Rookie mistake but the day before the temperature was over 70!)
I have a lot of fun being out and talking with people. It can be a lot of work and make for a long day, but there's something about it that I really enjoy. If you live in the DMV area I'll be at a few craft and art shows on October 30 and December 4 in Silver Springs. Come out and say hello!
In other happy news, in case you didn't hear yet, another of my short stories was published last week! This time in Funny Pearls, a humor magazine based in the UK. They had an open call for political pieces and mine tied with another to win that coveted spot in the magazine. You can read Political Reality here.
What if an actor trying out for a prized role, finds out it isn't for the silver screen?
And of course I have some books for you to check out this week. Like a virtual book fest!
First the individuals. Let's start....
The Long Way Home is the story of Larry Edwards. A working-class man with a high school education, Larry has two big problems. That he knows of.
One is his headstrong nephew, Anthony, whom Larry must raise after Anthony loses his parents. This is difficult for Larry because of his second problem. He isn’t married, never has been married, and has no idea how to raise children.

Esme’s life has been filled with secrets. Her mother says she’s destined to be a queen, but she won’t say when. Or how. Or who Esme’s father is.
When Esme’s imprisoned by the evil fairy godmother, she only has more questions. Who is the young man guarding her? Why is he so interested in her father’s identity? And can she convince him to help her escape before she’s forced to marry whichever self-absorbed prince with a hero complex turns up to rescue her? Find the book here.
Enemies by nature. Companions by choice.
Warrior-Scout Ashayna Stonemantle has no awareness of her fate until her sentient magic manipulates her into seeking out one of the enemy—Sorntar, Crown Prince of the Phoenix. If she dare trust the word of an enemy prince who is also an avian shape-shifting mage, their souls and futures are eternally linked. Find the book here.
For all you sci-fi and fantasy readers there's a promotion this week!
