yo! want to be capable of focusing better and becoming more productive?
Our ability to focus our attention is one of the most valuable skills to develop.
Attention is the currency.
See, many things in life are 'free', although looking deeper you can see there are hidden cost and incentives to most 'free things.'
When you begin to realize the mind-blowing power behind your focus in when your life can 180. Would you say you are existing or Truly living?

Observation ability
Learning to harness our attention has many benefits.
That theme is priceless too, to identify what in our life has many benefits (and vice versa).
Our attention leads to how we feel.
See, you can't control how someone chooses to act or treat you, yet with focused attention you can choose how you feel due to their act.
Let's say someone is apparently rude to me, the first moment I'll feel some annoyance.
That said, the next moment I'll observe that internal tension which is annoyance, realize I don't enjoy feeling tense and then choose to understand that their rudeness is simply coming from an un-healed aspect of their life.
Not judging, just having compassion.
Everyone has tough experiences that we don't know about.

Catching oneself
With everyone fighting their own battles, this emphasizes the importance of channeling attention with intention.
See, there's an abundant amount of broken humans.
These people are not observant of the way that they make others feel with their actions.
Therefore, we have no right to blame or put them down, rather our solution is to choose not to focus on their drama.
If we let ourselves get caught in it, then their low energy will poison your energy.
Instead one can choose to place their attention on other high frequency sources of energy and this will only help you.
Life Truly comes down to understanding the magic in the details.
It may not seem like a harmful thing to watch a certain TV program, but if you look deeply, you will begin to realize your mind us always absorbing and by consuming low quality programming you directly ask for a more difficult life.

How do you want to feel
How to identify where to place attention?
This question goes deep.
On a grand scale it comes down to each individual.
That said, we can surely lean into some general rule of thumb understandings.
From a basic level, just ask yourself how does consuming or watching this thing make me feel?
5 minutes after? 15 minutes? 1 hour? 3 hours? etc.
If we listen to our feelings our lives usually improve in quality, rather than numbing our emotions. Identify what you do, watch or consume that consistently leaves you feeling negative and weak. Subtract and replace.
Weak feelings are similar to guilt, anger, jealously and shame etc.
Only once you identify how something is effecting you can you go about improving the situation.

Subtract first
How to train focus?
Well, now that we have identified how focusing on certain things leaves us feeling we can begin to upgrade our focus skill.
The simple rule of thumb that's priceless is, less phone = more life.
Test it out, just leave your phone is other rooms and replace the old phone time with healthier habits.
See how you feel.
Besides that, it comes down to the principle of removing distraction and replacing that time with focus training activities.
Instead of being aimless on the internet seeking entertainment, you can read for 25 minutes.
It's all about deleting what weakens your focus ability and replacing it with what builds the ability. It's that simple, each individual will have different nuances in the details of this that is why I choose to touch on the general rules of thumb.

The magics in the details
Learning of the power behind ones focus is the lever to transition from a life of existing to Truly thriving.
When we are trapped in either a victim mindset or a survival mindset it's main cause usually leads back to what we place our attention on in each moment.
I often catch myself thinking in a way that's not beneficial and have to re-focus where I place my attention.
The magic is in your ability to notice your thinking and then harness it properly.
A statistic to sum this up quite nicely is that 85% of our worries NEVER come true.
So 9/10 times there's no need to be stressing the way we tend to.
See, many humans don't realize they create their own hell, their mind is their prison and It doesn't have to be that way.
Society and culture programs us to value our self-worth based on the opinions of others, this is a powerful lie.
We are better off having a handful of deep quality relationships and building trust with those individuals, valuing their perspectives.
Knowing where your focus is and where to place it to feel at peace has to be one of the most priceless abilities one can develop.

Choosing the action and thoughts wisely
So, what do you focus on that usually leads you to feel unpleasant?
This question requires that one is willing to be honest with themselves, often the Truth is tough because it shatters some of our beliefs about the world.
-are you consistently judging yourself and others?
-this is a sign of unharnessed focus
-we benefit from adopting focus training habits
It's important that we learn to have compassion and understanding for others and ourselves.
This allows for us to re-focus our attention on doing healthy things in our time.
See, when you say yes to judging and criticizing you say no to the high frequency aspects of life. It's a choice.

Observe more Judge less
When I talk about not judging, I don't mean that we make 0 discernment.
There's a massive difference between judging and observing.
This is the power of focus, you will catch yourself initially judging and then be capable of re-framing ones perspective on the situation.
For example: I see someone overweight and looking a bit shabby, my initial judgment would be something rude, then I can choose to say well they are on a walk clearly doing something healthy so have some understanding.
Are you consistently judging yourself and others?
What habits can you adopt to train your focus?
What habits can you drop that don't make you a healthier person?
