have you developed the ability to bet on yourself?

HOW TO BUILD YOUR ABILITY TO TAKE RISK:

Life is a windy road, full of surprises, mistakes, disappointments, and amazing moments.

There is much to learn.

At times our best bet is to ponder upon what NOT to do,

as we have no clue what to do.

This is the idea of mitigating risk,

you feel out the situation by understanding the common pitfalls from your prior experiences and observing others.

Are you clear on what you don't want in life?

NOTICE YOUR ATTITUDE

It's absolutely foolish to act like you know it all,

any human whose done a bit of introspection understands how beautifully complicated life is.

An example: think about animals in general, who made them?

How does a squirrel intuitively know winters coming?

Who made everything so interdependent upon another thing?

The flowers need the bees, and the bees need the flowers, and RAW honey is so helpful for humans health.

All I know is that the creator of all this is one intelligent entity.

Don't act like a know it all.

You reduce your potential to grow when you carry a closed minded, arrogant attitude...

You become your own worst enemy.

Risk can be mitigated by being open to the idea that you have lots to learn, as do I.

RUNNING FROM WHAT?

Life is full of unknown, new situations.

It's normal to have no idea about your next step.

It's been helpful when I identified what I did NOT want,

this system can be applied to unlimited areas of your life.

As A 23 year old, who does not have a long term connection with a beautiful lady(YET LOL),

I know I have NO interest rushing into a relationship and having a kid too quickly.

It's obvious to me the whirlwind that could cause.

My father, was quite an autopilot parent, he abused a lot of pharmaceutical drugs like oxycodone and that was combined with being an alcoholic.

I saw how he was, I began to ask myself questions 'why was I not taught these skills that other people have?'.

I realized the drugs controlled him, that was NOT appealing to me.

I identified what I did not want to be.

SEEKING SOLUTIONS

Handling tough moments can be so challenging,

I've found that I get caught in my thoughts and create negative delusions of the future if I'm not aware of my attention.

This is how being aware of your thoughts can change your life.

Don't let a small problem go unchecked and evolve into a big problem.

Example: Was on a hike yesterday, got back to my car and my tire pressure was blinking.

Immediately I went into worry and stress mode.

Is my tire flat?

Do I have to 'waste' money on a tow truck?

How much will my next pair of aftermarket tires cost?

Then I went back to focusing my attention on the sound of my breath.

This I learned from meditation.

I began to relax and look for solutions,

checked to make sure nothing was flat... and nothing was.

So It was a short drive home, and all I had to do was fill em up once I got home.

If I had not caught myself I would have fallen into the trap of anxiety.

Work on noticing when you are stressing,

and bring your focus back to the sound of your inhale and exhale.

You manage risk by attacking situations quickly.

BECOME THE HUMAN YOU CAN ADMIRE

The way that you carry yourself is crucial to where you end up.

We all know the golden rule,

treat others how you would like to be treated.

It sounds good,

I feel as if every human could agree this is a great rule.

Yet, millions of people do not execute on this rule on a day to day basis...

It's as if their attitude toward life has become a bit corrupt,

they have been 'hardened' by this world.

The truth is you see in the world what you see in yourself.

This emphasizes the importance of your attitude.

Complain, whine, and act as if nothing is in your control,

this will lead you to blaming everyone but yourself and you'll be CHOOSING to see the world through a negative lens.

Changing your attitude is only something YOU can do for yourself,

but it will make your entire life better.

It begins with what you choose to focus your attention on,

and don't get me wrong,

there definitely is a lot of rough situations in life.

Having an awareness of them is important,

but there's also much beauty in life... We need balance.

Balance is not always simply symmetrical.

LIFE IS COUNTER INTUITIVE

These points all come into the thesis of risk mitigation,

see a life VOID of risk is a stale existence.

Humans need adventure.

When you do take risk,

you want to do it in a way where your upside is larger than your downside.

I call this the cost: benefit analysis.

It is not easy to bet on yourself and go against the grain,

which also makes it super rewarding.

It's normal to have doubts, hiccups, hard moments, but a winner never gives up.

Starting fresh from a better starting point is not the same as giving up.

I've had the urge to share a helpful message and teach what I've learned for a while...

I started with stock market letters and videos,

found out I enjoy trading but it's not something I want to be pouring extra effort into.

I pivoted.

Trading made me learn about human behavior and psychology,

this is how I found my passion for speaking about what I'm actually obsessed with.

I did not quit.

I had to try things, learn, and try new things.

Be open to betting on yourself,

strategically think about the cost: benefit ratio when you do bet on yourself.

Lastly, accept it will take longer than you initially expect.

GIVE THIS A SHOT

If you do not take time to question yourself,

your direction, your actions, you will end up living a life that's not great.

I don't want you to live in a delusion of the future, but you need to think about the future.

Do you have a rough idea of what you want to do the next 1-3 years?

If not, what about what you do not want to be doing?

We must articulate a vision for where we are headed.

Either you create a detailed life by design or you aimlessly let life drag you by the heels.

The later will not be too good.

Good news is you can start today,

right now, and begin changing into a person you can look in the mirror and be proud of.

That's what matters.

-Buy assets, not liabilities...

This is sensible, but not taught at a young enough age.

(College debt is the ONLY NON-FORGIVABLE debt for a reason...

They hook you in while young, and catch ya.)

-Protect your sexual energy,

this is so powerful and again not taught in schools.

When you jack off to light pixels on a screen you are ridding yourself of many great nutrients that are in your sperm.

(plenty of other negative aspects to watching porn)

-Reflect upon how you feel,

and aim to get in touch with your body...

Why do I feel the way I do?

(I reflect by thinking on walks, journaling, meditating, these activities give you space for self.)

-Stay away from addictive substances.

Self explanatory.

Addiction often takes over lives,

and the human begins to do nothing but that addiction,

once you have nothing else going for you...

It's terribly hard to break the cycle.

I APPRECIATE YOU READING

There's going to be many situations where you are unfamiliar,

and truly don't know what to do.

This is where identifying what you know you shouldn't do comes in.

Trying something new? -> Don't expect instant results, go into it with a learning attitude.

Don't be scared to make errors.

So take a peek into your future and think about some areas,

some actions you can take to mitigate risk.

You have to take risk if you want to be anything unique.

Notice I have 0 interest in spoon feeding you answers,

as when you come to the conclusions yourself you are significantly more likely to execute.
