are you working through self-sabotage?

Destroy Self Sabotage.
There are many ways that we could go about living our lives.
Depending on how we choose to go about our days, this will determine the quality of our experience.
I don't even want to say there are 'better' ways in comparison to others, yet it's true that certain lifestyles offer significantly more depth than others.
If you enjoy my writing, you probably like depth.
Do you know you can be the designer of your reality?
Create inner belief
I think we need to touch on why many people don't create a life by design.
Like the idea sounds so great initially, I'm sure just about everyone would be a fan of building a life they love...
The truth is it's not easy.
What's interesting is the alternative to a great life is also not easy, so it's this decision between two rocky roads.
One path has light at the end of the tunnel while the other is a bit dimmer.
What is one of the main reasons people don't build great lives?
They don't have self belief.
They have had their minds programmed to follow a pre-paved route and have not learned how to get connected with their deepest self.
So our priority needs to be figuring out how to generate a powerful internal confidence.
You ruin this by participating in self sabotaging acts.
Actions that may feel good instantly but then you come to later regret, these are one of the biggest roadblocks to creating a life by design.
The direction
Let's go in depth on how self sabotage works.
It starts when you try something new, then this act turns into a bad habit, but truly you are unaware of the negative consequences.
It's important to think deeply anytime you are putting something into your mind or body.
Read that one more time for me.
For example, I didn't think one bit the first time I tried using nicotine, I was young and extra foolish...
This ended up being a terribly tough bad habit to overcome, it damaged my lungs, cost me money and overall had multiple negative consequences for using it.
Had I known what I know now it would've been quite easy to say no to trying it initially.
There's this idea of risk mitigation...
It's knowing in life that you'll have to take risk, but that being said, you can still be wise in what risk you choose to take.
See I'm never telling you to be perfect, I think it truly is okay to be a human and to have some fun.
My point is, be intelligent and precise in what you choose to do.
Have a deep understanding of the trade offs you're signing up for with your decisions.
Life is all about trade offs and perception...
What’re you doing?
Your lifestyle matters more than you'd most likely expect.
See, every single choice you make is a vote for the person you want to become.
Every choice matters.
So what it comes down to is how aware do you want to be in your moments?
You can set yourself up for an autopilot crash course to disease by living unintentionally.
You can also create a peaceful experience by choosing to learn continuously and take care of your temple.
A great lifestyle in my eyes is a balanced one.
Where you reach both physical and inner serenity, you learn how to flow throughout your days.
I'd imagine this would involve a versatile approach to both using the mind and resting the mind spontaneously throughout the day.
Not being too rigid nor too loose.
I feel it could be described as a playful everyday experience or a dance.
For me I feel it would involve lots of outdoor time, great deep connections with others and the rest of the variables are open to adjustment.
Implement structure
Being intentional has to be a high priority if you're aiming to build a great life, if you wonder through this experience you'll get results of a wanderer.
We need to balance faith with everyday execution.
It's not helpful to be a control freak and plan your every single move either, you get too analytical and you overthink and stress too much.
The fine line is the balance.
For instance, I know during my 24 hour day I want to do a certain set of activities, I have both a morning and bedtime routine with certain acts.
That being said, during my day I also have a set of task to do, yet I don't put them all in a specific order.
I do the hardest things first.
When it comes to rest activities like reading, walking, breath work, visualization and journaling I simply toss them into the day whenever I feel like it.
No pressure.
I feel when I need one of these acts.
So it's this sweet balance of having a structure, while being spontaneous at the same time, stray too far to either direction and you'll be limiting yourself.
Are you intentional?
The strongest trick to destroying self-sabotage has to be switching how you view it.
Here I'll give some extreme examples to get the point across clearly.
Rather than viewing the donut and alcohol as a treat you earned, you see it as poison that steals from your limited energy bank.
Instead of thinking watching porn is acceptable, you perceive it as a direct attack on your ability to become greater.
This starts with education...
The donut and alcohol truly do poison your system.
They may not kill you instantly like a deadly venom, yet they kill you slowly.
With porn it may not visibly ruin your life, yet internally you're wasting valuable nutrients and undermining your dopamine circuitry.
There are a multitude of negative consequences to both the actions I've made examples from.
That's a huge key for you.
Pay close attention to the actions that have many bad side effects, those are the most dangerous habits because the compounding effect works both ways.
You'll build a good life inevitably if you fill your days with actions of the opposing nature, ones that are layered with positive benefits.
COMPOUNDING!
Implementation
Something that's helped me very much is combining two ends of opposing styles.
Theory and practice.
To learn about your tendencies, urges and inner workings of the mind...
All theory related to self-sabotage.
While also focusing on practice, I will follow the 3-2-1 rule each night so I don't sabotage myself with low quality sleep for example.
The theory is knowing how important sleep is, while the physical 3-2-1 rule is the practice.
Try this:
-identify when you work best
-create a list of your most important task
-knock out your key task as early as possible in your day
-create a daily schedule that allows for this to occur sustainably
-journal 30m per day simply dumping thoughts onto paper - 0 agenda
Please do let me know if this helps you.
There are so many small details that go into bettering your life, so I'll be distilling them with time. Good things take time.
Don't be too hard on yourself.
Don't be in a rush to get to a certain place, remember life is made up of the now, there is nothing but right now.
Plan for the future while taking care of the current you.
