MAKING YOURSELF A TOP PRIORITY - WORKING AROUND RESPONSIBILITY
We all have responsibilities to attend to, yet some people manage to build themselves while others can't seem to even get basic survival down...
The interesting thing is usually our responsibilities take us away from working on ourselves.
Much of our responsibility is not related to our own health.
If you get out of balance and forget to prioritize your health, it leads to a dark road.
Are you thinking strategically about why your health must be a priority?
Being connected with your higher self
When there's so much to do and others to guide it's easy to find yourself drained from the commitment.
This is a sign that we need to listen to ourselves better.
Helping others is a RE-FUELING activity, yet if we overdue it, it'll end up DRAINING us.
We need everything in the correct balance.
What changed my life was shifting my schedule around to prioritize taking care of myself.
Feel free to stick with your schedule, although if you know you want to feel better and are sick of how you currently feel, consider testing this out.
Slowly move your wake up time up, 15 minutes every week or so, It's easiest to work on yourself when everyone else is sleeping.
Also, it's easiest to sabotage yourself at night time with unhealthy actions, so you go to sleep earlier you reduce the likelihood of self sabotage.
If you take care of yourself first thing you're going to feel great, I prioritize some meditation, writing and gym all before anyone else is awake.
This is my secret cheat code to good days.
Setting the tone works, momentum is not a force to be underestimated.
There's a lesson in everything
We need to become great at feeling what our body and mind is telling us.
It surely takes time to develop this awareness and it's totally worthwhile.
For instance, annoyance is a sign that there's a lesson, what is your feeling of being annoyed trying to teach you?
See, It's not the other person making you annoyed but you yourself are giving them the power by being stuck in that thought.
Rather, you can say "Ah that feeling, annoyance, I recognize this and I choose to re-focus my attention elsewhere, on a healthy activity that I know brings good feelings."
The point is, when we have responsibilities we are inevitably going to have tough feelings.
It's our duty to learn how to move through our emotions and carry on with actually being present in the moment.
When you get trapped on a thought or feeling you're not in the moment, you're living in this painful place that isn't focused on what's in front of you right now.
What's your thinking like?
Thinking strategically is a big driver to your success.
This is knowing how to zoom in and out, becoming aware of how many different angles you can look at one situation from...
So, maybe you have many different roles to play in a single day and it feels as if time is your enemy.
First, it's helped me to remind myself that I don't need to solve things instantly, I noticed It's very easy for me to get annoyed when I'm super zoomed in on a situation.
Knowing that tendency of when I get annoyed easily it allows me to remind myself in the moment and prevent unnecessary frustration.
This is a big topic, becoming aware of ones bias, temptation, beliefs and tendencies.
There's so much to unravel there.
This is hinting at the power of understanding yourself, when you do the work to figure out why you're how you're, it helps you understand this in relation to others.
The ability to understand people is a game changer in this game we call life.
Almost everything we do involves other people and having great skill in communication and psychology will unlock many doors for you.
Thriving > Surviving
Your basic survival needs do need to be respected, think, if you don't have something yourself how could you possibly share it?
Therefore when we speak of being a leader or a good teacher, you have to be taking the utmost care of yourself if you want to best help others.
This concept truly is powerful. If you feel great about who you're and where you're going the odds that you positively impact others rise.
If you have parts of yourself that are holding you back, those things will spread into others that learn from you.
We need to be honest when we take a look at our lifestyle and to deeply search for areas that can be better.
The magic lies in the basic details.
Quality sleep, nutrition, exercise and time management.
When we take care of our foundation it allows for amazing things to come, we mustn't forget the importance of building a sturdy foundation.
We want to be the type of people who can be the calm in the storm.
Those humans who don't understand a victim mindset, rather we choose to overcome whatever comes our way.
Multiple routes, they're all hard
We have to be crystal clear on our priorities.
It's easy to let ourselves get dragged into other peoples priorities.
So knowing what to say no to comes into the fold here.
For example: you're asked to go out when you know your health is a top priority, it's just about bedtime.
You have business and exercise to get done tomorrow morning...
So you say no and choose to prioritize your own well being over going out.
This requires you to be aware of how one thing effects another.
We need to start connecting more dots in life, paying closer attention to the inter connections that are everywhere if you'll look closely.
This is the idea of a feedback loop.
If your health is a top priority, you begin to feel better by taking correct action, by feeling better you realize how much taking care of yourself matters and then you continue to make even better decisions.
This goes for both directions, once you stumble it's much easier to continue falling.
See, this is why every choice you make truly matters.
Every choice you make is a vote for the person you're aiming to become.
One of the most rewarding pieces of life is that nobody will ever do the work for you, so when you do the work and earn a reward you know what you had to do to earn that.
The feeling of truly earning or building something is just so amazing, nobody can take that away from you.

Faith + Physical Execution
To prioritize yourself I think we need to begin with what's not a priority.
Making a general list of things you do and spend time on that are not beneficial to where you'd like to go.
We don't need to be perfect but I'm sure there's some stuff that must go.
-filter that list down
-create a general vision
-break vision down into core habits
-create a plan for implementing 1 new habit / month
-start each habit with 1m a day and add 1m every week
By starting with 1m a day you make it so easy to build this new habit.
Now when you add a new habit this means you need to remove something to create space for it.
Weaken your saboteurs and replace them with healthy actions.
This is for YOU
What are you doing on a daily basis that is not serving you?
What are your beliefs that are holding you back?
What's your STRONG reason for working on yourself?
Take some time to answer those honestly and deeply, you'll forever get out of this what you put into it.
Nobody will do the work for you and that's why the work is so important. You know your potential has no ceiling.
