you know work does not have to feel like work?

Work... That Is Enjoyable?
As we grow up we inevitably have more responsibility, but this can be rough if we don't adopt the correct mindset around this.
Responsibility brings meaning into our lives.
We all want meaning.
So what's the deal with so many individuals running from personal responsibility?
Work Will Be Done
Life is going to be hard no matter what, if you were born into prosperity you'll have the psychological challenge of lacking purpose.
If you're born into a struggle it's more of a combination between physical work and psychological stress. The common denominator is work must be done.
So if work is to be done no matter what, doesn't it make sense to learn how to enjoy the work?
Choose Your Hard
The hand you were dealt in life is not our focal point, but the fact that every hand will have pros and cons.
You will have to put in work.
It's work to maintain all the healthy habits that got the successful man to where he is.
Each day he will have to be disciplined and focus on purpose above pleasure, and we know there's many temptations at all times.
It's work to become the successful man.
The journey to becoming a great person is full of ups and downs, excitement and pain, it's a tough emotional roller coaster.
It's work to be a bum.
When you do nothing for yourself you feel the most pain internally, this person is unsuccessful and clearly their life is tough.
They feel most their pain psychologically.
Create Meaning
Nobody comes into this life absolutely positive of what their purpose is.
If you're lucky amazing people may see it in you and help you recognize it.
Meaning is something you create through personally investigating your natural talents, and creating a way you can help others through the use of those gifts.
Creating meaning can come from finding a WHY, before I knew my purpose I was obsessed with the idea of not letting my mom down.
Being able to pay her back ten times over.
Your meaning will change over time, but we all need a starting point to get going.
This is not a smooth road, but I also didn't have the tools I have now.
I'll give you actionable steps later in this post.
Moving The Needle
If you view responsibility as a lever to building a life of purpose you'll be able to work much better. Our minds are so powerful, you and anther person can both be doing the same activity while you're miserable, that other human is enjoying the work.
This all comes down to the mind.
Through consistent work you can shift your mind to appreciate the things you once took for granted.
We have to re-wire the way we think, this comes from many different healthy activities.
There's no simple solution.
Each individuals experiences will shape them in a different way, but even with these different experiences there are proven actions that will help EVERY person.
Things like going for a nature walk, meditating, eating clean, conversation, cleaning your environment, regulating consumption, high intensity training, reading, you get my point.
These are universally beneficial actions.
The Vision
Learning to enjoy the work is so valuable.
Odds are when you begin something and you're not too great at it, you won't love the work.
But you can adopt the understanding that you will improve at this thing, and when you improve it becomes more enjoyable.
You need an anchor of reason.
If you're pushing toward a goal, your vision must be clearly defined.
It's much easier to commit to something long term when there's clarity around the purpose behind the work.
Why are you doing what you're doing? Seriously – write me out a full page on that.
And I don't want just materialism, mix the physical reasons with the mind and spiritual reasons.
This Will Help You
I threw a bunch a great activities at you earlier, now I'm going to dial in on how you can start becoming the person you want to be right now.
You first need to accept the fact that it's not the crazy moments, the highs, the lows that make you, it's the small things you repeat everyday.
Do 1-2 of these daily: (create a specific time of day AM- Afternoon - PM)
-read 10 pages
-meditate 10M
-train 15M-90M (you choose)
-study a natural interest 50M
-consume your body weight in G of protein
-start at least 1 random conversation a day
-make one room in your house as beautiful as possible (one timer)
-cut out the people you follow that make you feel bad on social media (one timer)
Let's focus on building 1-2 great habits over the next month or two, I say 1-2 because the goal is to build a life of great habits, no to take on too much and quit.
Start small, and slowly up the volume.
The best routine is the one you'll actually be able to stick to.
I’ll End Off With This
The beliefs we hold shape the way we interpret situations, and how we interpret things links to how we feel.
So in order to feel good more often we have to start to build beliefs that are going to create more positive interpretations more often.
Adjust your beliefs by consuming positive content.
Rid yourself of all negativity.
Ask:
What does the person I'm aiming to become do with their time?
What Do I do often that leads me with a feeling of guilt / regret the next morning?
would you be so kind to take a minute or two and reply to this email and give me some feedback?
