The power within big picture thinking
How to level up:
Nobody teaches us how deeply connected everything in life is.
We are pretty much guided to be very egotistical individuals, which is not healthy for the whole of this world.
I think there's too much focus on division in our societies, this causes many unnecessary issues.
When we're disrespectful to others we are actually disrespecting ourselves.
Most people don't realize they're sawing off the branch they're sitting on.
This is tough, because reality is as it is, and we must accept it while aiming to improve ourselves!
What's the best way to improve the world?
Context
In the big picture, you improve this world by improving yourself.
This is founded on the ripple effect.
See, you do not control other people so you can't force them to improve, thankfully you do have a mind capable of making decisions.
You can realize this fact, that the world get's better when you improve yourself, that's a powerful inspiration for becoming your most.
The ripple effect is the idea that you can change one persons day or mood and they may change another 10 individuals moods and so on.
It's helpful to have a strong reason for wanting to better yourself.
That's why zooming out with the big picture thinking is beneficial.
The more powerful the reason the lower the likelihood is that you give up or quit, and if you never quit you can't fail...
Sure, you may re-route and go new pathways, but that's much different form simply giving up on your mission.
You truly will get what you put into this life, it's cool because nobody can ever do for you what you have to do for yourself.
You can surely get help and guidance, but the work is absolutely up to you. This also means the great feelings and rewards are for you.
Raising awareness
I need to dive a bit deep into the ego here, see this is our sense of self, what we refer to as I.
So when we make goals so that we can have a certain material item or status those rewards please our sense of self.
The ego is not a bad thing.
The ego has many levels on it's spectrum of development, what's unhealthy is to have a ego that is not growing and developing in a mature way.
An under developed sense of self will not be educated to the point in which it understands the concepts of self sabotage, denial and deception.
These three things seem to be very close to the core of most of our tough situations.
See, we're talking about disconnection here.
When humans aren't aware of how what they're doing links back to how they feel.
A large amount of human suffering and pain is self imposed...
We cause our own pain by being attached to an imagination of how reality should be.
Reality is as it's supposed to be.
If you want to change it you must take action consistently and reflect each day to see where you can improve and adapt.
See, there are two major differences in states of being.
One main state is the place of flow, when you loose track of time and are totally immersed in the moment.
Another is when you're living in your mind, you're disconnected from flow and you're diving deep into thought.
This can be healthy and un-healthy.
If you're consciously choosing to do it to learn and study, that's great.
But you can also be thinking when you don't want to be thinking, this is when it's not healthy.
Connection is the key
Division is a foolish notion of you are a big picture thinker.
If you zoom out enough, you see that we're all humans, we are all a part of that whole that is humanity.
That's not enough to stop division though, not at all.
We need to realize that this reality is deeper than we previously thought.
See, if you're rude to another person you may not be aware of what this does to you, but it is going to make you feel even worse about yourself.
This is natural human nature, many people just lack the awareness to recognize they're making themselves feel worse by being toxic.
This is founded upon the law of karmic debt, you'll get back what you put out.
It may not happen immediately, but it is inevitable.
It's like that idea, that which comes easily will go just as easily.
My point is that when we zoom out and understand the idea of karmic debt, we're going to act in a way that we'd like to be treated.
This automatically improves so many lives if people truly embody the principle.
The reality is a lot of humans are very disconnected from themselves and don't realize they inflict their own pain and this is rooted in a lack of self education.
They don't know what they don't know.
People feel the best when they're creating something meaningful to them.
We are meant to be building and advancing in some way, this can look different for everyone but the thesis will remain the same.
Humans do the best when we are connecting and sharing our meaningful projects.
Is it time to dig deep?
Egotistical people care mostly about themselves, this is about where 70% of the human population operates from.
If you've ever seen someone liter some trash, that's an example of someone very self-centered.
Not aware of the effects they're having on others.
This sort of life is unfulfilling, you're always moving the flag pole and are in a constant state of desire for pleasure.
That being said, everyone is at the right stage in their live at the right time, no stage is 'better' than another.
Some stages are more developed, yes, but not necessarily better.
Each stage comes with unique trade offs.
Naturally some humans will not have any interest in developing themselves, to each is their own.
While others will find massive meaning in striving to thrive in life, rather than simply existing.
What're some of the reasons you'd be interested in thriving?
Well, a huge reason is that you're tired of the pain.
That feeling that you don't want to continue living the way you currently are, this inspires positive adjusting and improvement.
And how do people accept the stale existing option?
See, they're totally unaware of how much better they could feel, they've accepted the glass celling that society programmed them into.
Practically speaking, it comes down to their habits and daily decisions.
They get comfortable with a moderate level of pain and that becomes an acceptable norm.
As time passes the pain grows and grows, internally deep down they know they're wasting their potential, yet this voice is suppressed and ignored.
It's difficult because you may desire to share with others how you improved yourself, but you can't save someone who doesn't want help.
It's very beneficial for you to learn about Ego Development theory, it'll help you ride the waves that everyday life brings you.
Deepened understanding
Whatever we may be speaking about, the power in big picture thinking is relevant.
Understanding that A has an effect on B and B effects C.
One of the most important areas for this is the mind - body connection.
You fuel your mind + body well and you get high energy in return which can be invested for massive gains.
The opposite is also true.
It's not about having the energy but also knowing how to optimally invest that fire power too.
Then you also want to know what to avoid, what are the common traps that you can fall into on a day - day basis?
This sorts of things either distract you or steal from your energy bank.
Two of the most important things for you to focus on are training your ability to harness your attention and generate high energy.
Along with that we need clarity on what we're doing and why we're doing it...
That's a great journaling question for anyone who doesn't feel clear.
A good life requires a heroes journey...
We are meant to go through a massive adventure during our lifetime, the mission of fulfilling our potential and becoming our most.
So that's the framework.
Now each of us has to figure out how to begin that journey, I'm a bit into mine...
And I'm absolutely shocked at how much the quality of my moments has changed since I started this journey.
It's been a terribly rocky road and that's what makes me so grateful for the smoother seas that I'm now entering.
Of course don't let me fool you, challenges will still arise, I'm just better quipped to handle them now.
Results:
-Deeper sense of clarity
-Massive reduction of stress levels
-Stronger feelings of confidence
-The tools to create your dream body
-The wisdom to re-program your mind
-The tools to make the most out of your days
Actionable tips
So it's not about making instant changes, I don't want you to stress.
Even reading this is a great step in the right direction.
What we want to do is make incremental adjustments consistently throughout an extended period of time.
If you do this you're unstoppable.
What habits do you have that're holding you back?
What's your powerful reason for beginning to improve your life?
You have to do it for you.
To improve ourselves we must be a bit selfish, because we cannot share with others what we don't have ourselves.
You can also tie your improvement to a strong purpose outside of you, knowing that your example may inspire others to get their life together.
Take away
Aim to connect more dots in your everyday life, pay closer attention to the details like peoples tone of voice, vocabulary, body language, thought patterns, mental / physical habits... ETC.
You can't improve something you don't know can be improved, it all begins with raising your awareness and shifting where you place your attention.
Does the idea of wasting your potential bother you?
I hope so, I don't think there's any greater mistake a human could make then that.
