When I was shooting professionally I almost never updated my portfolio or site. I was too busy on location, editing, and reaching out to potential clients!

But our site is often where clients decide if they want to work with us or not. This is why from a clients perspective, we need to stay current and put our best work out there.

In addition to this, Google wants to serve ACTIVE sites to it's searchers, the way to show that you're in business and worth recommending is by keeping your site up to date. So if your site has been sitting there without any changes in a while, this is a reminder to go and make an update.

Here are a few quick ideas:

• Update images
• Revise text and messaging
• Make a blog post about a recent shoot
• Add a helpful guide or FAQ

Now off to update my site!
