Tactics vs. strategies in marketing your photography

Hi ,
Tactic or strategy?
In my experience, most of us are drawn to the next hottest "tactic". Myself included...
Several years ago I did the follow/unfollow approach on Instagram for days on end to hit the coveted 10k followers for my clothing brand. A tactic that honestly didn't feel great or productive. And guess what? It didn't make any noticeable difference in my business.
Tactics are the things that marketers come up with for quick wins. They are the "get rich quick" approaches to marketing - and they rarely ever pan out, usually only for the person selling the tactic...
Strategies are sustained plans. They are more than a quick-win, approaches that will (over time) grow your business in measurable and significant ways. And they almost always are aimed at genuinely helping people, whether that's guiding them or answering their questions. (the follow/unfollow strategy was simply self-serving)
SEO can be a strategy, but if you're approach to SEO is work for a few hours, one time, and hope that you get incredible results, it's more of a tactic.
Great SEO takes time to work, but the rewards are powerful and well worth the time. I've seen it time and time again for many clients, and it can likely do the same for you.
That's all for today, hope you've had a great week so far!
