I was 12 years old and we just started dinner. I looked at my family and I was nervous and I asked if I could have everybody's attention.

"Can I make a request?" I asked.

My parents didn't know what was coming. I wasn't sure how it was going to be received. I told my family, "Please don't call me Kenny anymore. I want to be called Ken!" 

A twelve-year-old habit is hard to change and everybody in my family had the long-standing habit of calling me Kenny, but that wasn't me anymore. 

Are you calling the shots for your own identity? Are you calling the shots for your own life model, or are you following somebody else's model, somebody else's expectations of you? 

This is your life. You get to live your dream. You get to live your vision. You don't have to live anybody else's. Make sure you're calling your own shots and you're living your own life model.
