Stop waiting for someone else to agree with your identity

Good morning, ,

I saw a short video with Brian Regan and Anjelah Johnson. Two comedians that I have loved following for several years.

I didn't hear the question that Anjelah asked Brian, but his answer was incredible. In short, he explained that years ago, before he was well-known, an seasoned comic asked Brian why he was telling people that he was "trying to be a comedian."

"Because that's what I'm doing," Brian answered.

And the comic responded: "You're doing it now." He challenged Brian for putting that goal, that identity ahead of where he was.

Don't we do this to ourselves, too?

What would change if we adopted the identity that we think we have to chase? Be that person now instead of sometime in the future?

In most cases, there's no licensing board, no approval process required to be what we want to be, like:

Author

Teacher

Mentor

Speaker

Entepreneur

Business owner

Writer

Artist

Athlete

Strategist

Analyst

and hopefully you get my point.

Stop waiting to "become" what you want, and just be it now.

You've got this!
