How I know common sense has been lying to you

Hey, ,

If you're like me, you grew up being told that you were smart, that you were a good kid, that you had common sense.

And if you're like me, you believed it.

And if you're like me, you still believe it.

And if you're still with me on this, that's exactly what's been holding you back.

You and I have common sense. We believe in things that are real and realistic, and we don’t believe in things that are outrageous or crazy.

Here's the problem with that belief. It has allowed us to tell ourselves a story, and the story isn’t based on actual truth; it’s based on the version of the truth that feels comfortable to us.

The story I told myself for decades was that I was an introvert, but I learned that doesn’t have to be true. Especially when I discovered that being an introvert was keeping me from everything I wanted.

The story that you've been telling yourself—the common‑sense story—is exactly why you are where you are. It's exactly why I am where I am. Maybe it's time to stop believing that story. Maybe it's time to stop having common sense and start having uncommon sense.

Tell yourself a different story, believe a different story, and we can have a different result.

We deserve better.

We can believe bigger.

Let's do this!

Ken
