Who is choosing your identity?

Good evening, ,
About a year and a half ago, my daughter was about to have a baby, and the question came up, "What's your 'Grandpa' name?
There were some clever ideas, and some boring ideas, and one idea rubbed me the wrong way. And I realized today why.
When I worked overnight, I was constantly tired and grumpy. In fact, I wore that as a badge of honor."
"Hey, Ken--how are you?"
"Tired and grumpy."
So, it's not a surprise that I would hear a suggestion that my Grandpa name could be "Grumps." Kind of funny.
And then I realzed that I do not want my grandkids thinking of me as "Grumps."
Who has shaped your identity? Was it you or someone else?
Make sure that you're living the version of you that you choose--not something that someone else has decided for you.
You've got this!
Ken
