The truth about the fear of failure

Mar 07, 2026 7:37 pm

Happy Saturday, ,

Fear of failure doesn't exist.

You don't have "fear of failure."

Here's how I know: Suppose you were to ask your boss for a raise.

Failure: You don't get the raise.

Success: You do get the raise.

You are already failing at getting the raise!

Why are you not afraid every minute of every day of not getting the raise that you already don't have?

You're not afraid to fail at getting the raise...You're afraid of doing what it would take to possibly get the raise...and then not get it.

You're afraid that someone else might know you asked and didn't get the raise.

That's not fear of failure. That's fear of exposure. That's fear of discomfort.

That's not fear of failure.

Do yourself a favor and never tell yourself again that you are afraid of failure. You aren't.

You're afraid of being uncomfortable. And I get it. So am I.

But together, we can be bold and do hard things.

Let's do this!

Ken
