How to Have Faith

Good morning, ,

Faith is often discussed through the lens of religion. But let's take it out of the church for a few minutes.

Faith is, according to the Googles, "Complete trust or confidence in something or someone."

It's believing something. All the way. One hundred percent.

It doesn't have to be something religious. It can be anything.

So, let's talk about it.

If we don't take control of our thoughts, our "confidence" and belief may drift into something bad. We naturally think the worst case scenario.

That's faith. Not helpful faith, but it is faith.

I remember the day that an unexpected bill came. It was a YEAR after my youngest son was born. The first hospital bill hit my mailbox, and it was a final notice. Even though I hadn't received anything before.

The amount due? On Christmas Eve? $90,000.

The good news is that we can choose whether we want to believe something good or something bad.

When you find yourself drifting into having faith in something you don't want, tweak it. Adjust it. Pivot it.

Because things ALWAYS work out. Not necessarily the way we want, but they always work out.

That bill, for example? The insurance company hadn't been billed yet, so they took care of it. My liability was zero.

It always works out.

You've got this!

Ken
