Hey Dragons!
Settling into a new job can be interesting. Especially when you’re barely getting any sleep. This week was my second week at my new job, which I’m really loving, but it’s also been brutal because I can barely fall asleep until late at night.
Of course, this led to me having enough energy to really work on revisions for my thesis. I’m a third of the way done with it and hopefully, I’ll have it published by the end of the year! I’m in talks with an editor right now so we will see how that goes.
Here’s a rough draft description for those curious:
Shizu can’t remember anything about her past before the Hikage clan took her in. Death and espionage are all she knows when trained by the kitsune and thrust into a battle that threatens the underworld that she knows little about. She wants to get out, but the clan has other uses for her. The Daimyo’s daughter is to be wed so he can grow his military strength. Shizu is the only one who can kidnap the princess and bring her back to the clan. It’s her ticket to freedom and she will do anything it takes to buy her freedom. Even if it means the price is the death of those closest to her.
This is the longest book to date sitting at about 105k words. Almost 20k words longer than any of the Dragon Guardian Wars books. It’s my first of a potential trilogy following Shizu through a fantastical world inspired by Japanese culture.
