on the road

Hi ,

This email is a bit late, as I've been swamped lately. I'm juggling multiple projects and fighting a cold.

I have a short story today:

Jack Kerouac was a poet who died a few months after I was born. I knew he was a poet, and I had always assumed that his greatest work, "On The Road" was a collection of poems.

I was wrong.

"On The Road" is a semi-autobiographical novel that chronicles his cross-country travels with friends. It explores themes of freedom, rebellion, and the search for meaning in post-war America.

You can read the summary here.

This is a special subject for me. When I was 18, I left home to join the ancient fraternity of showfolk. For 14 years, I traveled the United States performing in Renaissance Festivals.

I had a lot of adventures, mishaps, and 1000s of memories.

*sigh* :)

William
