It's history day again!

The Ottoman Empire was founded in 1299 🏰 and lasted until 1922 📜.

That's when the last Sultan, Mehmed VI, was deposed and the Republic of Turkey was declared.

Osman I founded the empire, and it expanded to cover parts of Europe 🌍, Asia 🌏, and Africa 🌍 at its height.

The Ottomans were known for their military prowess ⚔️, architectural achievements 🕌, and cultural contributions 🎨.

It is amazing to me that the empire that took down the Byzantine empire lasted until my grandparents were alive! 👵👴
