2025 Didn’t Break Us — Here’s What It Taught Virtual Event Hosts Instead
Hey ,
Let’s not sugarcoat it.
2025 was… A Lot!
AI exploded. Attention spans shrank. (Psych, if that was true; I wouldn't send you these long emails every Monday!) Burnout became a badge of honor (again 🙄). And virtual events? They either evolved—or quietly disappeared. (Psych!)
EVERY Friday at 10am ET, inside the Virtual Summiteers Peer Group, we showed up anyway. Not to complain. Not to chase shiny tactics. But to figure out what actually works when you’re producing, hosting and monetizing virtual events in a very noisy online world.
Here’s what 2025 taught us — and why you’re getting the full review right here (because email subscribers deserve the good stuff).
🚀 Lesson #1: Consistency Beats Clout (Every Time)
The biggest myth of 2025?
That you need to go viral to be profitable.
What we saw instead:
👉 Consistent, niche content outperformed flashy metrics
👉 Evergreen assets brought leads years later
👉 Small audiences converted better than big ones with no trust
You don’t need more eyeballs.
You need the right people finding the right content at the right time.
So ask yourself:
Are you building assets… or just chasing numbers?
💰 Lesson #2: Monetization Isn’t Greedy — It’s Respectful
One of the loudest mindset shifts this year was around charging.
Inside the group, we reframed monetization as:
✔️ Respect for your expertise
✔️ Protection against burnout
✔️ A filter for serious buyers
Micro-offers ($7–$27) helped identify who was actually ready to invest. Others leaned into advisory and high-ticket offers, realizing:
People aren’t paying for your time.
They’re paying for what you know.
Or, as one member put it very plainly:
“If you’re working for free, you’re losing opportunity cost.”
Let that one sit for a second.
♻️ Lesson #3: Your Best Content Is Already Made
Here’s the hard truth most event hosts needed to hear in 2025:
You don’t need more content.
You need to reuse what already works.
One event can become:
- A month of social content
- Multiple email newsletters
- Reels, clips, and short-form posts
- Training or membership material
Repurposing wasn’t a “nice to have” — it was a burnout prevention strategy.
So tell me:
What piece of your content deserves a revival in 2026?
🤖 Lesson #4: AI Is an Intern, Not Your CEO
AI became unavoidable in 2025 — but inside Virtual Summiteers, we didn’t treat it like magic.
We treated it like a very fast intern.
AI helped with:
- Slides and presentations
- Repurposing transcripts
- Content drafts and outlines
- Course and event frameworks
But here’s the key lesson:
AI doesn’t replace leadership.
It amplifies it.
If the strategy is weak, AI makes that obvious fast.
So ask yourself honestly:
Are you using AI to scale your thinking… or avoid it?
🎤 Lesson #5: Boring Events Are Officially Dead
Zoom fatigue wasn’t the problem.
Boring events were.
What worked in 2025:
- Strong hooks in the first 7 minutes
- Engagement loops (polls, chat, shoutouts, interaction)
- Intentional follow-up (because sales don’t happen at goodbye)
The biggest missed opportunity we saw?
Hosts disappearing after the event ended.
Reminder:
80% of sales happen after the 5th touchpoint.
Ghosting your attendees is not a strategy.
🧠 Lesson #6: Systems Are the Cure for Burnout
Burnout didn’t come from doing too much.
It came from doing everything manually.
The hosts who thrived in 2025:
✔️ Front-loaded content
✔️ Automated promotion
✔️ Reused assets strategically
✔️ Planned before launching
Because hustle without structure is just stress with branding.
So here’s the real question:
Is your business giving you freedom… or just a prettier cage?
🎯 Final Thought: 2025 Was Practice — 2026 Is the Main Event
2025 wasn’t wasted.
It was preparation.
Inside Virtual Summiteers, we learned that:
- Systems create freedom
- Authenticity builds trust
- AI amplifies clarity
- Consistency compounds results
- Community accelerates everything
The blueprint is clear now.
So before we step fully into 2026, I’ll leave you with this:
What are you taking forward — and what absolutely needs to stay in 2025?
Thanks for being here.
Thanks for showing up.
And thanks for being part of a community that actually does the work.
We’ll keep the conversations real — almost every Friday at 10am ET.
With gratitude,

PS: If as you were reading this you thought, “I wish I had a space to talk through this stuff in real time,” that’s exactly what Virtual Summiteers is.
It’s not a course.
It’s not another content dump.
It’s a peer group for event producers, hosts and entrepreneurs who want smarter systems, better events and sustainable growth—without burning themselves out.
We meet EVERY Friday at 10am ET.
You’re always welcome to join us when it feels aligned. 💛
