Perhaps you are living with persistent pain, fatigue, illness or changing health.
Perhaps you are neurodivergent, questioning whether you might be, or beginning to understand yourself through a new lens.
You may be experiencing stress, overwhelm or burnout-or simply feeling that the ways you have previously pushed, coped and carried on are no longer working.
Coaching offers you space to pause, explore what is happening and discover ways forward that recognise the reality of your life and your capacity.
You do not need to arrive with a clearly defined goal.
You can begin exactly where you are.
Enquire about coaching
My coaching is grounded in curiosity, compassion and respect for your lived experience.
Rather than starting with what needs to be fixed, we can explore:
what is happening for you now
what is affecting your capacity
what matters to you
what you need more or less of
the patterns that have helped you survive but may now be costing you
the choices and possibilities genuinely available to you
the next small, sustainable step
This is not about pushing through, becoming more productive or trying harder.
It is about developing a kinder and more accurate understanding of yourself-and finding ways to live and move forward that work with you rather than against you.
persistent pain, fatigue or fluctuating health
adapting to illness, disability or a change in capacity
neurodivergence, late identification or self-recognition
masking and the cost of appearing to cope
stress, overwhelm or burnout
boundaries, rest and asking for what you need
making decisions when your energy is limited
rebuilding trust in yourself and your body
identity, purpose and change
feeling stuck or uncertain about what comes next
creating supportive, sustainable ways of working and living
making space for more of what nourishes you
You do not need to fit into a particular category. If something in this page speaks to you, you are welcome to enquire.
What we think, feel and do does not happen separately from the body.
Pain, fatigue, sensory demands, past experiences, uncertainty and the effort involved in managing everyday life can all influence your available capacity.
Our sessions may include conversation, reflection, gentle noticing and, where appropriate, simple embodied exploration.
There is no requirement to move, meditate, regulate yourself or connect with your body in a particular way. Everything is invitational and can be adapted to suit you.
You remain in choice throughout.
There is nothing to achieve and nothing to perform.
Our sessions are collaborative. I will not arrive with a formula for how your life should look.
I may offer questions, reflections, education or gentle practices to help you explore your experience. We can slow things down, notice what is becoming clearer and identify steps that feel possible within your actual life.
Sometimes coaching supports change.
Sometimes it helps you recognise what cannot-or should not-be forced to change.
Sometimes the work is learning to listen to yourself, honour your limits or relate differently to uncertainty.
Your aims may become clearer as we work together. They are allowed to evolve as you do.
I am Helen Machen-Pearce: a coach, embodiment practitioner, nervous system educator, yoga teacher and retired medical doctor.
My work brings together coaching, embodiment, nervous system education and many years of professional and lived experience.
I have a particular interest in persistent health challenges, fluctuating capacity, neurodivergence and the hidden effort involved in continually trying to hold ourselves together.
I offer an approach that is thoughtful, compassionate and grounded in the complexity of real life.
Coaching sessions take place online using Zoom.
Sessions are usually 60 minutes and are available to adults aged 18 and over. I work with clients in the UK and internationally.
Coaching is generally arranged in a block of four sessions, giving us time to develop a supportive working relationship and explore what you need without rushing.
Before making any commitment, you are welcome to send an enquiry. We can consider what you are looking for and whether I am the right person to support you.
Coaching provides a confidential and supportive space for exploration, reflection and change.
It is not psychotherapy, counselling, crisis support, medical care or medical treatment. I do not provide medical assessment, diagnosis or individual medical advice through coaching.
You are encouraged to continue using any appropriate medical, psychological or other professional support.
You do not need to write a polished account of everything that is happening.
Tell me as much or as little as feels comfortable. Your enquiry does not commit you to booking coaching.
