Recently I spoke with someone preparing for retirement.

He had saved close to $800,000.

On paper that sounds comfortable.

But he told me something unexpected.

“I still don’t feel confident about retiring.”

Not because he didn’t have money.

But because he didn’t know whether his investments could actually support income for the next 25–30 years.

This is something I see quite often.

The real stress in retirement planning usually isn't about how much money we have.

It’s about whether the portfolio structure is reliable.
