One of the most common investing patterns I have observed is surprisingly simple.

Investors often buy when markets feel safe

and sell when markets feel uncomfortable.

Which usually means:

Buying high.

Selling low.

It’s not because investors lack intelligence.

It’s because markets trigger emotions.

Understanding how to structure a portfolio so that emotions don’t drive decisions is an important part of long-term investing.
