Mini Vacations and a Quick Update

October has arrived and we have had lovely chilly days, and a few cold days. We had our first frost last week, so I'm hoping the leaves on the trees start to turn. I'm dreaming of chilly days, warm sweaters, hot drinks, cozy blankets, good books, and more. In fact, I'm dreaming of autumn so much that today's blog post is all about it. You might want to check it out as it includes some FREE stories, and an audio giveaway, and more. You can head over right HERE.

These last several weeks have felt like a whirlwind of one thing after another. I was trying to get so many things done and other things kept coming up, and I was attempting to finish some things, and problems would arise. I was feeling stressed and like I just wanted to run away to some cabin deep in the woods and hide. Alas, I don't know of any cabin deep in the woods. And I probably would have been stressed trying to pack and get ready to go to a cabin.

So I did the next best thing.

I took a mini vacation. Last Friday, after cleaning the house, I went to the library to pick up an inner library loan book, and when I came home I decided I was not going to try to do anything "productive." I wasn't going to try to write. I wasn't going to attempt to work on blog posts. I wasn't going to work on Camp stuff. Nope. I took the day off. I sat around listening to Mozart and other classical music, took apart some lego buildings, sorted lego pieces, played with nieces and nephew, and just relaxed and even read.

Wow!

Why didn't I think of doing that sooner? On Saturday I was refreshed and motivated to dive back into work, and I accomplished a lot in one day. I was reminded that even Jesus took time away from ministry and made sure His disciples had time to rest. Why do we feel like we have to do it all right now?

So, if you are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, and ready to find that cabin in the woods, take a mini vacation. (And you don't have to worry about any airline losing your luggage or getting lost in the woods.) That's my advice for now.

On the writing front, I'm still working on Secret Project. Not sure if it will be done before November, but I'm still holding out hope. Prayers would be appreciated for writing it. I've worked just a little on "Nan's Ice Cream Shop" but only a little.

Registration for the King's Daughters' Writing Camp starts on the 19th! That's coming right up! Are you planning on joining us for camp?

Sorry, that's all I've got today. I have a book to write, a quilt to do, and other things to work on. Don't forget to stop by my blog today and pick up your free stories, enter the giveaway, and see what else I've shared.
