Joplin Journal Volume 11-7, Issue 2
From the Editor's Desk:
I thought of giving you a Joplin Journal in 60 seconds, but this might be a full 2 minutes, so stay with me if you can.
Weather Report:
Summer heat. Drought. Last night we got rain and a storm! Still need more rain, but we got some. Now the humidity comes back.
"Genius Burns":
Lots of writing! This week I've written over 15k words! Total for this month so far is 24,115 words. New short stories, the start of a novella(?), More on "Monday's Mystery."
Project Prognosis:
How am I doing?
- Work on Blog Posts for 2023 – July posts finished. 2 for August done.
- Update Website – Some updates made.
Visitors:
No one. But we might have Grandpa and Marty next Friday.
Whispering Winds:
James & Krista are home from working. Those two and Joel attended camp. Drew attended camp this week.
Babysitting:
We had all the kids except James & Krista over last Friday evening. Lego building was the focus. And Kins sang "Never over look a little engine" at full volume for a while until threatened with no dessert by her brother if she didn't sing more quietly. :D She doubted him and asked me about it. ;)
The Music Stand:
You can hear our patriotic prelude HERE. And we also played for all the congregational songs.
KDWC:
We are going strong! This camp is the largest we've ever had 147 of us from around the world. Over 800,000 words written already.
Independence Day Picnic:
It was so much fun! There was a nice breeze. We did
- water rockets
- water balloons (reusable ones)
- baseball
- visiting
- eating
- fireworks
Sewing Room:
Still staying busy.
Read Another Page:
Nothing new here.
Teacher's Lounge:
Closed for now.
Book Nook:
Only 4 books to share today. I'm currently reading a collection of stories but haven't finished it yet. One Went to Denver and the Other Went Wrong (2nd book in series, pretty fun), Red Dove of Monterey (enjoyable about Old California), The Last Swan in Sacramento (book 2 not as good), Lost in the Middle (long time to read but very good).
Farewell:
That's it. I have a list of things on my to-do list. And I wonder how many words I can get written. Mom's eating breakfast, Sarah is probably about to go sew if she isn't already, and I don't know what Dad is doing.
