Overdue Challenge, Uninteresting Update, and Real Life

It's February!

I had every intention of writing you a newsletter in January, but . . . You may have noticed that there were no Read Another Page emails in your inbox. And don't bother checking your spam folder because January and I didn't get our acts together long enough to get something sent out to you. I could give you all the reasons for not doing it, but why bother? January is gone and finished. Now, whether we like it or not, we have plunged headfirst into February.

Finding something worth sending you an email about is proving rather tricky. I don't have any newly published books. So, I suppose I'll give you an update on writing in general.

I have two novellas that I'm hoping to format and publish in the next month or so. One is a fall story titled Finding Home and the other is a Christmas story titled Tidings Bringing.

In January I was able to get this year's Christmas Collection story finished. I know, I know, it's a little early. But what was I supposed to do when I had the idea? I was afraid to let it keep sitting for fear I wouldn't get it written.

Now I'm working on Another Homewood Christmas story. Yes, we had so much fun writing A Homewood Christmas collection that we decided to do another one. It's the same town, but different decades. And we have two new authors! My story takes place 8 years after my other story.

Once this story is finished, I have all sorts of stories I want to write, including finishing Kate & Kylie, and figuring out the plot and writing Katie Wood. (What is with me and K names?) But I also want to write a Valentine story, and finish up some other started stories.

But unfortunately, I can't just write.

  • I have a Widows' Luncheon to get ready for on the 11th

Make place cards

Make corsages for the widows

Figure out seating

Set up and decorate

  • Format and order proof copies of Finding Home and Tiding Bringing after I design a cover for the Christmas story.
  • KDWC is getting closer! There's quite a bit involved in getting that ready.

Writing devotionals

Creating prompts for Motivational Meadow

Adding new badges to Challenge Canyon

Making sure the new aunties know what they need to know

Double checking that everything is ready and in apple-pie order

Working to get the Everything collection finished up so it can be published

And that's just a little glimpse of what is going on right now. I didn't talk about the everyday life, and babysitting my nieces and nephews, and writing blog posts, and dreaming of figuring out how to record one of my short stories myself, and reading, and . . . Okay, okay, you get the picture.

Oh, speaking of reading, I am hosting another Read Another Page Reading Challenge this year! I'd love to have you join me! And if you feel like you have too many books on your To Be Read (TBR) list, check out this post for battle plans for conquering the pile. Or at least keeping it to a more manageable size.

And that's all I have for you today. I have things on my to-do list, my desk needs cleaned off, and frankly, I don't know what else to tell you. Enjoy your month and maybe, just maybe, I'll be back in March.

Oh, by the way, my newsletter provider told me the subject of this email was an A+ subject. Do you agree?
