Should I wish you a happy St. Patrick's Day?
To be honest I completely forgot it was St. Patrick's day until someone mentioned it online. That tells you how important it is to me. :) But let's skip the holiday, shall we? I start teaching writing classes again tomorrow and only have so much time. Besides, I have more interesting things to talk about.

I've been working hard on the next Woodbreak book. Yes, for those of you who haven't yet heard, there is another book in the series. Actually, there are supposed to be 3 more books and an epilogue. I just don't know when they'll all get done. I was almost done with Phil Wood, when I realized that something just wasn't right. It was missing something vital, something that connects the readers and the characters. So, to make a long story short, I rearranged almost all the scenes, am rewriting scenes, adding new scenes, and it's now coming together much better. Stay tuned for more updates.

Last week I got asked if I'd like to write a story for A Very Bookish 4th of July. Since I love the 4th of July, I was excited to say yes. I picked which book I'm going to use, and named my characters. Then I started writing. It's coming along quite well and I'm eager to get to working on it each day. If you like stories with lots of patriotic vibes, family fun, and a glorious Fourth, this story should fit. What things do you do to celebrate the 4th of July? Reply and let me know. I can always use more ideas.

It's been 10 years. Ten whole years since I became a published author. It was a strange feeling holding an actual book in my hands that had my name on it. I still remember the fun of handing that book to people and just watching their reaction when they realized that fat book was written by me. You can go read my post about my journey of writing and publishing Home Fires of the Great War HERE. And if you don't have a copy, you can get one now. Unfortunately, it is only on sale in the US. Tomorrow it will be on sale in the UK. But for those who are in the US, you can get your copy RIGHT HERE.

Tomorrow registration for the King's Daughters' Writing Camp starts. We'll be having camp the entire month of April. If you are a writer and haven't joined our camp yet, perhaps you should check it out. If you have any questions feel free to reply to this email and ask. If you are already a part of KDWC, I hope to see you at camp!

I'm going to recommend a book. No, I was not asked to recommend it, or share about it or anything, but I just wanted to. It's a Christmas book, but it is coming out in July and is available for pre-order. It's an Advent collection with a very short story for each day of December leading up to Christmas. I got to read these stories as the author wrote them, and let me just say I love them all! Some made me smile, others made me blink back tears. Some were exciting, others sweet. All were well done and often left me wanting more yet feeling that perhaps I didn't really need more. And now that I've gotten you really curious, go and pre-order Glad Tiding. I can't wait to get it in paperback!

I know I mentioned this book in my last newsletter, but it is now published and available in paperback! I got my copy and love how it looks. If you haven't read it yet, go read Fanny's Hope Chest. And if haven't gotten a copy yet, consider getting one. Or get one for a friend who is single.

That was quite a lot to dump on you all at once. I hope you survived. I need to run and get a little violin practice in before I go write Phil Wood. I hope you have a great day! Don't forget to let me know of ways you celebrate the 4th of July!
