From the Editor's Desk:

Good morning and happy Demolition Day! Yep, we've got plans to start ripping off the paneling in the sewing room today. Some of the boys are coming over to help us. Not sure who, but they all wanted to come. It's the start of actual deconstruction work. :)

Weather Report:

Excessive Heat Warnings this week. Thursday reached 100º with a heat index of at least 110º. Hot. So thankful for AC. Things are starting to get a little dryer, but our yard is still green and I had to mow on Tuesday.

"Genius Burns":

I'm still writing. Nothing on my already started novels. But I have been having fun writing short scenes or stories from picture prompts and words of the day from KDWC. Some times combining the picture and the word has been . . . interesting, but I've always managed so far. I'm a bit behind on the story and picture prompts right now but since they end today, I'm hoping to catch up next week.

Project Prognosis:

I'm not even sure what my projects are right now. :) I have things I want to do but don't have time for.

  • Update Website – I got things done except for figuring out which plugin I need for doing something because one I was using isn't working now.
  • Blog posts for August – I have one done for August and a couple others started.
  • KDWC – Camp officially ends tonight, but we'll keep it open until next Saturday evening.
  • Work on the house – Yeah, well, that is going to be an ongoing project. ;)

Birthday Party:

It's official! Grant is now 4 years old. Finally, after waiting and waiting for his birthday, he got to have it.

He had us there, his Cass grandparents, and his oldest cousin who must have been in the area. He carried around his new wallet with his money and his gift card to Andy's, built his new Lego sets with help from Joel and Lucas, and shot people with his new water gun. :) It was fun.

On the House:

After packing up boxes and boxes of books and things we can do without for a few months, and taking loads of things to the climate controlled storage unit we rented, our house is looking rather empty in some places. We've rearranged the living room and moved shelves, the piano, and more.

Sarah's sewing stuff is completely moved upstairs. All her boxes and boxes of fabric and patterns are up, and the room echos now.

As I mentioned, Jimmy is sending some of the boys over to help tear things out this morning. Dad wants to save the trim and any of the paneling he can. But we have to put plastic up first, and we also have a load of stuff to take down to the storage unit. We'll see how much we get done.

The Music Stand:

I'm trying to practice a few times a week.

KDWC:

Camp has gone well. We've had some issues we've had to deal with, but we can't expect perfection from over 100 girls with different opinions, beliefs and ideas. Misunderstandings happen and we have to take things to the Lord.

Sewing Room:

It's a good thing Sarah wasn't trying to complete a lot of orders this week with her sewing room not settled.

Read Another Page:

I'm getting my hard cover book "Christmas Day Joyous" made into an audio book. Since all the Christmas Collection stories have already been recorded, this will just mean my producer has to combine them into one book.

Teacher's Lounge:

Closed until Fall.

Book Nook:

I haven't read a lot since the last time. Here's my list: Meriwether Lewis: Boy Explorer, Walter Chrysler, boy machinist, Dandelion Cottage, Eugene Field, young poet. And that's it. I told you it wasn't very many.

Farewell:

I did write most of this yesterday. And now I need to get it sent so I can do a few other things. Have a great weekend!
