I thought of sending this out yesterday. But after receiving a veritable flood of newsletters from other authors, I decided I didn't want to be "just one of the crowd" and thought I'd wait a day. Do you get a lot of author newsletters? If you do, do you read them all right away or do they sometimes sit for a few days before you get around to it? Don't worry, I've done that too. I do try to give them a quick glance just to see if they are promoting a special one day sale or something. If you do the same thing, yes, I have a promotion.

I have been writing Phil Wood some. I can almost see the end now! Then I have to reread it and see if it even makes sense. After all the cutting, rewriting, rearranging scenes and writing new scenes, I'm not sure what is still in the story and what isn't. Hopefully it will end up being a story worth reading. I'm sure you'll tell me if it's not. Right?

Guess what? I have a new short story for you. And it will be FREE tomorrow (June 3) through Saturday (June 5). Hurry for Newsy Jones was a story originally written as a play for my nieces and nephews to do. And Newsy Jones was played by my then, 5-year-old nephew. And yes, this is the Newsy Jones (older and grown up) who is in the book Lake Wood. This story was the start of Newsy's "career".
