From the Editor's Desk:
A lovely good morning to you all! And happy last day of April. I still can't figure out how it can be the last day of April, but that's what the calendars say. I suppose I should believe them. As much as I don't want it to be May tomorrow, I am loving the warmer weather. How about you?
Weather Report:
This week has had rain, clouds, sunshine, wind, and temperatures ranging from the 40s at night to the 70s. Last night it stormed, but this morning the sky is blue with some light clouds, the sun is shining and the birds are chirping and singing. I mowed the yard on Tuesday for the first time this year. It needed it. And with all the rain we're getting it will probably need it again before long.
"Genius Burns":
Well, I did some editing and such on Don Wood. But it wasn't enough. Now I am actually rearranging some scenes because one important scene comes in too late, but I also have to have other things take place before that scene, so I spent quite a lot of time yesterday trying to figure out what day of the week this story needed to start on for every things to happen in the right order and not have the important scene too late. Wow, that was a long sentence. I think it was 69 words! Okay, let's move on.
Project Prognosis:
Let's see how my projects are coming this week.
- Work on Blog Posts β Uh, yeah, I need to do that. I'm still just barely staying ahead and I'd rather not be pushing things at the last minute.
- Design a Journal β I got two of them done! I shared the first one, but here's the link to see my 2nd. I hope to get a few more in this series done.
- Design a cover for Lessons from Liberty β I have a mock cover for that done, but not the final one.
Spring 100:
Right now I'm at 44.5 miles walked this spring. The weather lately has been so much nicer and makes me want to walk more. Today Angela and I are going out to celebrate my birthday (a little late) and we plan to walk. We're going to try a walking path out where the old hospital used to be, then we're going to eat lunch and go walk the 3 mile loop at Wildcat Glades. Should be fun! It's supposed to be sunny and high of 74ΒΊ today. Perfect for walking!
Babysitting:
Jimmy called Monday afternoon and asked if we'd like the kids for supper so he could take Megan out for her birthday. We said sure. :D It was fun. James helped me pick up sticks in the yard so I could mow the next day, and Kinsley helped pick dandelions. After she'd pick some she'd put them in my trash bag, put up her hands and exclaim, "Yay! All gone!"
We also went for some walks because Kinsley wanted to "go walkin', ride wagon, see puppies, midnights!"
Introducing:
I'd like to introduce you all to Doodles, the western clown!
Yes, Drew made it himself!
And yes, that's a button on his nose. :D
Kinsley's Dictionary:
If you play with Kinsley, it's important that you know a few of her terms.
Midnight = cats, any and all cats are called "Midnight"
Ganky = blanky
MooMoo = cow
Sissy or Tista, JJ, JoJo, DrewDrew, Lukey, Kai-yin, GrantGrant, KinKin = Krista, James, Joel, Drew, Lucas, Kailyn, Grant, Kinsley.
The Music Stand:
The music stand is empty right now.
We played and sang for Easter Sunday. You can see it HERE. (Instrumental prelude and then ladies ensemble at 10:48.)
Sarah and I will start the kids bell choir on the 8th.
KDWC:
Closed until the end of June.
Sewing Room:
Sarah is still busy. She's made some cute skirts and one really full skirt for someone. I don't even know what all she's making, but she keeps getting fun and cute fabric so her fabric shelves are quite full.
Read Another Page:
I've been proof listening to Hymns in the Hills and have gotten the first 9 chapters approved. It's so much better than the first time. I love that she's singing the hymns in this story!
The audio for By Paths Unknown has been cancelled and now I need to list it again and maybe I can get the right person to read it.
Teacher's Lounge:
We have three more classes before we stop for the school year. We'll finish the end of May.
Book Nook:
Wow, I really got some reading done this time. The Shepherd's Voice (this was okay), One Night in Tehran (very interesting and fun read), Courting Misfortune (disappointed in this one as it takes place in Joplin), Star Island Boy (really liked this one), The Mystery of the Hollywood Horse (fun), In the Family Way (delightful read), Sworn To Sacrifice (okay, but not really my thing). I did just finish another book, but no review for it yet. What have you been reading? I have Kindle Unlimited right now, so I'm taking suggestions.
Farewell:
And now I need to make sure I'm ready to go walking. Maybe get something else done before then. I hope you all have a lovely weekend! And happy May!
