Hello,

Do you remember me? I'm that author who was going to pop into your inbox once a month. It sounds good in fiction, but reality is often different than fiction. If you've been a subscriber for any length of time you might have noticed that I haven't hopped into your inbox every month. Actually, I haven't been around since . . . *looks at calendar* Well, not since February!

I know, I know, that's a crazy long time ago since it's almost the end of May now! So, what have I been doing?

March:

This was a full month of writing. And writing camp. I actually wrote 51k words in March! That's a new record for me, and one that I didn't think I'd ever reach. But thanks for many of the aunties and campers, I was able to write and write!

April:

I didn't do as much focused writing this month as life was BUSY, but I did finish writing "Kate & Kylie" before my birthday! That was my goal so I'm happy with it. Then I had to design a cover for it, format it, and get the proof copy ordered.

May:

The month hasn't slowed down! The proof copy of my book arrived and I got it . . . PUBLISHED!!! Yep, you all get to know before I share it on my blog tomorrow! And yes, it's available in paperback and in kindle format. You can even read it on Kindle Unlimited!

But what am I writing now?

• Well, I'm trying to write a story for the new KDWC collection. It's written in a style I don't normally write in, so that's kind of fun. The working title is "Just Joy."
• I'm also working on a "secret project." I'd love to tell you about it, but I don't want to get anyone excited only to find that the story doesn't work, or stopped coming. If it continues going forward, maybe I'll tell you more about it next month. (Providing I actually get one of these newsletters written next month.)
• I have hopefully figured out a plot idea for "Katie Wood" but I haven't started writing it yet. I'm still trying to get back into writing regularly. Hopefully I can start it soon. *thinks about juggling three different stories all set in different times* *nods* Yeah, I think I could do that.
• There is another "secret project" that I would like to write this year, but we'll see. It doesn't have to be written until next year, but it might be nice to get it done early.

Well, that's the long and the short of my life right now. I'm hoping that with Wherever He Leads published I'll really be able to dive back into writing.
