I have utilized this principle over and over again both to hold myself publicly accountable and to expand the scale of impact I make.
I will give you three (3) Good Examples:
#1 Example: In 2021, one of my goals included to complete the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. This was a goal that I had set for many years but failed continuously.
So, by the end of January, I knew that if I didn't do something DIFFERENT to hold myself publicly accountable, I will not be able to achieve it.
What did I do?
I created a Facebook Group called "Complete the Bible in 1 Year" and invited friends and contacts to join me on the journey.
That year, I completed the Bible by November and the following year I was done by July. But that's not all. That group has motivated many others to join the journey in completing the Bible and increasing their knowledge and closeness to God.
#2 Example: Last year, I added a health goal to my goals, which was to join my husband in running the Liberia Marathon. I knew that I had a support system at home and could practice with my husband, but I wanted to broaden the impact and get more people to be more health conscious too.
So what did I do?
I opened a WhatsApp chatroom and recruited like-minded individuals who wanted to stretch themselves and improve their health and fitness.
We practiced together and encouraged each other when we couldn't.
All our team members completed the race👌🏽.
#3 Example: This year, I decided to undertake a 21-day continuous fast, again motivating a team of believers who wanted to stretch themselves spiritually and get closer to God. Through hail and high waters, we completed the fast yesterday.
So many testimonies already, and we have made plans to sustain the spiritual momentum gained.
I REPEAT, If you want to grow as a leader, build a community. 👩👩👧👦
Learn to Not just do things alone or secretly out of modesty or shyness. It is good to be modest but it is BETTER to be INSPIRING.
